I've met a few Italians in England and in Italy and, in the main, think they're a decent bunch who just want to get on with life. Very much like the English.

I'm a quarter Sicilian, but I hardly speak Sicilian or Italian, but I think Italian is a beautiful language, and Italian people are generally great people. But it's a lot worse being American...everyone seems to hate America.

An older Italian couple moved next to my grandparents when I was a kid. They became good friends with my grandparents. I think they were very nice people. As a child, I did not like them because they talked funny. Now that I have matured, I no longer consider that a reason to dislike somebody. One thing I particularly remember about them, is that they were very passionate about their wine.

First of all, we're not all English, I am Irish and quite a number of Americans and other nationalities use this site also.

I get on with most Italians I have met, most people seem to have a fairly good opinion of Italians, why do you think we don't?

I think it totally depends on the person, but generally the Italian nation is held in high regard, plus the language is very hot
