Why do you tell atheists to post constructively and not Christians?

How can you possibly learn anything from the religious people who think you're stupid because you don't go along with what you consider nothing but superstition and fairy tales ?
To convince a non-believer that there's something to the belief in a "God", you have to come up with a tiny bit of convincing evidence. That someone of doubtful background said so two thousand years ago, doesn't do it.
I have never read any constructive criticisms of non-belief. It's all just ignorant, childish bashing.

It's kind of hard for me to answer that. I've been using this forum for a while now, and I've found that relatively few Christians truly understand why atheists are atheists. I don't mean that in a rude way, but you're asking what I've learned from Christians' criticism of atheism, and it's kind of hard to learn anything when so many of the posts start out with "atheists deny God so they can live life without any morals" or "atheists secretly believe in God; they just don't want to admit it" or "atheists deny God because of bad things that happened to them" or "atheists deny God because they're afraid of what their friends will think of them" -- none of which are true. In order for me to learn something from the other side, the criticisms can't be littered with so many statements that are simply false. I hope that makes some sort of sense.

I'm an atheist.

I've learned how little most Christians actually know about the history of their faith. I've learned to study the details of my own beliefs in a deeper way; to look at what it really means to say that something exists. I've learned that way too many people are moral only because they think they will get punished if they aren't. I've learned that it is important to look at what people do rather than what they say: way too many Christians talk of love, but only show hate. I've learned that people prefer to believe what makes them feel good rather than what is actually true. I've learned that people will manipulate their own religious texts to get conclusions they are comfortable with.

I've learned that atheism isn't such a cute little quaintness held onto by a few people who really just want to be left alone to live life without interference but is a religion full of intolerant zealots bent on shouting down and battering the christian faith out of existence.

I've learned that they are bigger hypocrytes than a christian could ever dream of being since their whole philosophy is one of tolerance for others as long as we aren't hurting another human being (moral reletivism) and yet they are extremely intolerant of christians who have chosen a differant set of values than they.

I have had reaffirmed beyong a shadow of a doubt that their whole premise of beginnings, life, death, evolution and their main god science is based entirely on faith and that they have absolutly no hope, or vision or higher ideal to offer the world other than eat, drink and be merry because tommorrow you die and its all over. And yet even with this philosophy they are so bitter against those who put their faith in God that they are instead eaten up by arrogance, pride, and envy and there whole life seems to be one long bitter attack on those who won't join their godless approach to life.

Though I'm "new" to this site, I must say that already I've learned much. Why, some of the great minds of the 21st century make their presence known here. For example, that bush and that jackass and that snake really did talk. I confess that I knew that a bush has superior cognitive skills but in my lifetime I've only met one jackass that talked, a high-level member of the Bush administration. He also fancied little boys, but that a story for another day.

I have been able to leave behind some of my dopey-est thoughts.
I have lost much of the guilt for not being capable of believing in God in a fundy way.
I have been motivated to examine my beliefs more carefully.
I have been inspired to question every detail even more-so.
I have learned that many athiest are searching deeply for purpose, self improvement, and improvement of the world.

Mostly *****,mocking,etc.
I can tell they must really want to know about Jesus.
Why else would they "hang out" here (R&S) .
Why attack Q & A about Religion and Spirituality?
I have never hung-out in an atheist site (surely they have some) attacking anti-christian posts.

There is a mixed bag of Christians out there. It's also been good to read what issues are of concern to atheists.

Ignorance is found on both sides of this issue, as are obnoxious people.
