I believe the soul to be the same as God, spirit, which is energy, light and love. When your soul group is created, a piece of God is broken off and then divided up into individual souls which make your soul mates. Then you come here and start your lessons, always striving to rejoin with God.
Go ahead, give me all the thumbs down you want. I was asked what I believe. At least you read what I believe :)

A soul is a miniature you, so small that the most powerful microscopes in the world can't see it. When you die, this little sub-speck takes off and travels the zillions and zillions of miles to this wonderful place where it will be forever.
Up there, they have a very powerful air compressor that blows this soul back up to the size you were in life.

A convenience to describe part of how the brain works. A soul can literally be cut out. Some people with brain damage appear to have no soul. The same is true of emotion and morality and arguably also of mind.
I know this is a brutal thing to have to understand but it's nonetheless observable. Some people who suffer severe head trauma lose their 'soul', 'emotions' or 'morality'.

I'm an atheist, but I believe we have souls. I don't know what a soul is, or where they come from, but I think souls are what give us our humanity. They help us to form morals and values, know right from wrong. Possibly, our souls are our conscience. People who have no emotions or empathy have empty souls, while those who are caring, compassionate, kind, patient and loving have strong souls. I think our souls make us who we are.

A soul to me is the core and the ever giving of directions of what is good and bad and being kind and setting standards and it is the soul of the inner pitch of my being.

No not yet.
We have not learned all thier is to know about science and the world. A true scientist accepts this other wise there would be nothing to find!
I don't know if we will ever prove the soul or not. I don't know what science will find in my lifetime.

The soul from what the Bible reveals is one of the three parts of man.
1 Thess 5-23 we see " and the God of Peace Himself sanctify you wholly and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ
in acts i saw this interesting verse where this young brother fell out of a window when he fell asleep while paul was sharing the word... in chap 20 vs 10 Paul fell upon him and said.. " do not make a commotion for his soul is IN him"intersting eh!
from what we see in the word regarding the soul it is a special faculty in man withwhich he contacts the Phychological world..
His body, through the five senses contacts the physical world
and his spirit deep within him for contacting and having fellowship and worshipping God.
Our soul is made up of three parts.. The mind ( leading part of our soul) the emotions and will.
There is one more intersting thing about the soul. WHen God breathe into man's physical body the breath of life .. man's spirit came into being...it was then that man became a " living soul"
shows the order of man's coming into being..
Body formed out of dust
The spirit formed when the breath ( pneuma, Spirit) was breathe into man his spirit was formed within him
and then the Soul in man was formed in him:)
This soul became damaged after the fall...
the mind not able to contain thoughts of God in it..
the emotions not loving God.. even hating Him
and the will not choosing anything to do with God
God originally planned that man would live not just by the human life in him but by the Life that he breathe into him ...in his spirit.. that man's spirit would be the leading part of his being
But after the fall.. the spirit beame deadened and man's soul assumed the ruling position instead... so we see the " soul-life" coming into play
this soul life is independent of GOd.. it does not want any hardship.. it wants to be able to do whatever it wants .. so if u want to loose ur temper and not exercise self control..or choose things that are contrary to God or love anything but God.. this is ur soul life in action...
This is the part that the Lord asks us if we would " loose" or " give up" and choose the way of living according to the spirit instead.
if we give up our soul life by taking the way of the cross as believers we will gain our souls .. and have it preserved complete at teh Lord's coming..but if we choose to NOT live a crucified life then we will have to be dealth with by the Lord as he sees fit.
But yes..the soul is a crucial part of man and is such a wonderful faculty to love. choose and consider God with :)

A soul is something people made up a long time ago because they didn't understand how their brain worked.
