Lazarus, Jarius daughter, and the son of the widow of Nain are all listed in the New Testament as having been resurrected before Jesus was. The difference is that they did not resurrection themselves, like Jesus did. All three of them were resurrected BY Jesus.

It is like: Bill Gates is a multi-billionaire because he has all that money. If he were to use some of that money to pay off all your debts, you would not suddenly be as rich as he is. He was his money that paid those bills.

Several people were raised from the dead. But it was Jesus who did it, not them. They did not have the power to raise themselves (or others) from the dead. Jesus did it with his power. Further proof that he is divine.

No. Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. Lazarus died again. Jesus is the Word of God, the 2nd Person in the Holy Trinity who became man.

Peace and blessings!

Lazarus wasn't the messiah because he had two earthly parents; his mother and father were human.

Jesus was born to an earthly mother, Mary, but his father was not of this world. His father was God. Mary became pregnant through the Holy Spirit, which is God. It wasn't a physical act, it was a spiritually one. That is what makes Jesus the Messiah.

Jesus' resurrection wasn't the big thing that made him divine. Several things went into that - being the son of God, living a life without ever sinning, being sacrificed, rising (not be raised) from the dead, ascending back to heaven.

No. Jesus died to redeem us from sin, Lazarus died like any other man. Death did not make Jesus divine, nor did His returning from death. What made Him divine was being the Son of God.

Lazarus was not God's Son and Lazarus was not perfect. Lazarus did not die to save us.

No because back then if you were touched by a prophet you would rise from the dead.

However Jesus was not touched by a prophet.
