If you want the fathers to look like part of the wedding party, they should wear a black tux and wine tie, just like the Best Man. But if you'd like to give them a little more leeway, let them wear a dark suit/tux that matches what the moms are wearing.
Congratulations!!

Try having them wear a suit that matches the best man-it doesn't have to be the same, just the same colors. Also it is a good idea if they match the mothers that are going to be there. In my wedding the colors were red, black, and white. My mom wore a red dress and my dad wore a black suit with a red tie and vest.

They do not have to match the groom or the bridal party. As long as they are in suits it's acceptable, as for what you would prefer that is up to you. Typically the fathers will wear boutonnieres as well as your wedding party so remember to let them know what color flower they will be wearing so that their shirts/ties don't clash with the flower.
Good luck, congratulations, and I hope that you find the right answer to your question.

BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!
Oh, by the way, I am white AND have been in the fashion/beauty business for years. Classic always works. IN EVERYTHING!!!! I remember (not even clothes related)my first apartment was purchased as a gift from my parents and they hired an interior decorator to furnish!!! Everything was NOW, very contemporary, trendy, which is so fragile. 2 minutes of oooh's and aah's and then--- OUT OF STYLE. Get it!!!????
Skinny pants will be off the shelves soon, if not already.
Sooooooooo--- BASIC BLACK CLASSIC!!!!! ALWAYS!
Proms, parties, go for the moment and make a statement! Your wedding album will be forever on your mantle!!!

The groomsmen in our wedding wore black tuxs with plum vests and ties. I wanted the dads to be different but still flow with the groomsmen so they also wore black tuxs but they wore silver vests and ties. It worked really well in the pictures since each family had brothers who were in the bridal party.

You can either have them match the bridal party or match the respective mothers. They can also go with the classic black tie if that's what they prefer.
Congratulations!

Your Dad should wear a happy bright color because he finally is getting you out of the house and he does not have to support you. Your -in law maybe should wear black.
