shhhhh *whispers* "god-magic" cannot be explained by any of his faithfull followers, anymore than the power of "the-Q" can be explained by a Trekkie.
The fossil record is full of holes due to erosion and scavengers over time. Take coelecanths, for example, they "dissapeared from the fossil record" after a few layers of studied sediment. Yet, they still are caught once in a long while in very deep waters. I'm rambling now, I'll shut-up.

I do not understand what you mean by "clamor for missing links".
It seems your view is very colored--no direct jump from dirt--we were molded and created and God breathed life into man--not so simple as your negative view seems to appear!

Read the book of Genesis. The account of creation of human is just wonderful. God didn't use any other materials. For example, if he uses gold or diamond to form human body, you and I will be chopped into pieces for other uses. OK, we are dirt, but the dirt becomes alive and is a living soul. And the human has to be created in his image otherwise, you will look like a monkey and I like a lion. We will then be called animals and never humans. So thank God we are what we are humans.

It's not only xtians that believe this. Science searches for the missing links because many believe God has worked through evolution in order to help us comprehend it better.

They are mindlessly repeating nonsense concocted by Henry Morris, Duane Gish and such creationists to confuse the issue. See if any believers can coherently explain missing links to you.

Best question for the day. :-)
I think the answer is that science doesn't insert the words "... and then God changed the old species into the new species ..."

They don't want to think for themselves. They regurgitate what they hear elsewhere and don't think about it.
