I can imagine this causing you pain for a few days (worse than a work out). If it is too extreme or if it doesn't feel like it is starting to feel better after about a week, I would see a Doctor.

Be careful, if it is a pinched nerve or vertebrae stretching can make it worse. If you stretch, keep it to a minimum. Only stretch to a point of feeling a slight increase in discomfort.

Try this for immediate temporary relief.

Shower with the warm/ hot water hitting on your neck for as long as you can.

Rotate hot water bottle then ice pack for 5 to 7 min each. Try to stay away from heating pads they dry out your muscles.

or even better

You can either cut down a towel or use a hand or dish towel. sew the three sides like your making a pillow, put inside long grain rice as a filler. Only enough to fill 1/4 to1/3 (or more if you'd like) of the inside. Finish sewing up. Now you can either place in the freezer for 20-30 min + or stick it in the microwave for seconds to minutes until the temp you want. The rice bag will hold the temp for quite a while and will mold around your body. Great for any pain or discomfort and will last forever as long as you don't get it wet. Hang in there and good Luck!!!

place an ice pack on the back of your neck for ten minutes at a time, several times a day. You have to take a break from wrestling for a few days. Advil soft gel capsules are very helpful for the pain And the inflammation.

if you don't feel better in a few days see your medical doctor.

Get under a nice WARM shower and let the water hit the area in pain, start working that area once you feel the water ease the stiffness.
Don't prune, but stay in for a while. Once you get out continue to gently move and stretch. and dont sleep in cold draft or under an air conditioner for few nights,, bcuz it will lock up
Again!

well to stretch the neck muscles, u need to use them. u cannot not move it. make sure to move it and stretch it out every day, roll ur head around in circles, and look side to side as far as u can without moving ur other body parts.
