Dear Pirate, you are right. But for years the Boyscouts and Medics always tied a tournaquet . ( a lot of nerve damage was done my that poor practice.)

I thought a tourniquet was only for when the bleeding was too profuse.

The traditions as well as myth which has been introduced to you since you were a child which your parents had accepted it should be changed now that you have known that those are false belief or false technique, false doings.It should be changed to a correct techniques, correct procedure. Do not practice it entire your life.

Eating meat is bad for you.. now, there are protein diets to help heart patients in particular to heal faster.

Drinking diet sodas is better for you- the huge aspartame fiasco.

Bottle feeding babies is healthier than breastfeeding- now it's proven that bottle feeding is much worse, and children end up with developmental issues, allergies and predispositions to all kinds of diseases.
