I tried installing myself a factory stereo from a 2001 Jeep Cherokee into my 2000 Jeep Wrangler but it didn't work. The plugs all matched up, but the system never came on. Also, when I plugged in the large grey plug into the back it started making a clicking noise, similar to the sound of a blinker. Can anyone give me info. about this? Thanks!

The two radios are identical, so if it doesn't work there might be a problem with the radio. Note that in addition to the black and the gray plugs, there should be a separate ground connection attached directly to the radio's metal chassis. This usually takes the form of a braided metal cable attached with a bolt, or a striped black wire with a spade connector. If the ground connection isn't attached, the radio won't work.

You might also want to check your vehicle's fuses.

The clicking noise is your ground. Make sure that it's secure or you can blow a fuse. That might be why your radio isn't working. Happens to me all the time.
