I keep thinking that my son is purple around the mouth but then I am like "no you are just imagining things" so I just wondered if you would definitly know if someone had that

I would not waste time, make an appointment for your son to go to the medical doctor as soon as possible. Only a medical doctor can tell you exactly what is happening.

Does your son have bluish discoloration of the skin, fingernails and mucous membranes? Is he alert, awake and orientated to person, place and time? You did not state how old he is because infants and toddlers are nose breathers. Is he exhibiting signs of air hunger by using his mouth to get more oxygen? The best thing is to have your son examined by his pediatrician.

of course you would know. check the finger tips also. remember go with your motherly instinct because it better to be safe than too late, u get me. i work in pediatrics so this is nothing new to me. get him checked
