I am speaking of Jesus. I am trying to have faith and believe that Jesus is the son of God but am having trouble coming to terms with the fact that millions of people are worshiping a man that was believed to be the son of God. Which to me is hard to believe that there is an entity "up above" that has control over every thing that happens in our lives. We must ask for forgiveness for sins that they say he has already forgiven us for so we may go live in heaven for the rest of eternity. I am just having a hard time believing in this and I want to see what you have to say.

Jesus deserves to be worshipped as a gem of a man , even if you have trouble accepting him as Son of GOD or other attributes of His. Each child born on Earth is a Son or Daughter of GOD and each comes to Earth to prove that God Has not lost hope on Man , yet!.Each of us is a potential Jesus. Live in imitation of Him as much as we can, and the World will be a better place to live in.Even if you choose to ignore all the trappings of Religion, there is no need to give up morals or Good relations with other human beings. That itself is manifestation of Godliness present in you.So, concentrate on the Good things, and leave all controversies to clear themselves over time.
I am a Hindu by birth and acculturation. My religion teaches me that every form of worship and every Godhead that is worshipped by people of any faith reaches to the One and Only God . Therefore, without giving up my basic religious faith, I can accept Jesus and all other manifestations of God as mine. Problem arises only when I claim for myself the right to condemn others' faith and practices.

As far as the practice of confessions is concerned, either through an intermediary or directly in addressing God, this is in fact, one of the best ways I know of to prevent ill ness in the concerned person. The longer you nurse a secret or a guilt feeling, the easier it becomes for serious illnesses to get hold of the body. Even those who declare that they do not have any guilt feeling when they do particular acts, realise later on that there indeed arises a guilt feeling in the subconscious mind and over powers the waking mind. Attempts to suppress the Conscience never really succeeds.
I lend a willing ear to anyone who shows the need to confess and ensure privacy by asking them to write down the confession if they would prefer it that way., and then to destroy it.

Not all educated people believe in God and not all those who believe in God are educated.

Personally, I am an educated adult and I don't believe in God and what sealed the deal for me was the people who I was studying with who were so hypocritical and prejudice that regardless of what the bible said I knew I didn't want to be like them.

Just another point to ponder - back a few decades a man wrote a book from which sprung Scientology, for which many people call a cult and say that its not a real religion, while others swear by it and that its the only true word. Whats to say that 2000 yrs ago some guy called Bob wrote a book, called it the bible just for a laugh to see what would happen? And for those who say thats crap its what happened back in the 60's so could have easily happened 2000 yrs ago to set a precedent. If it did, I'm sure that Bob is having a big laugh now. :)

I have a science degree and I know for a fact Jesus is real and is the Christ/savior and the son of the living God.

Why do I believe this? How much time do you have?

For one I have studied and rejected evolution. To get life from non life without DNA and from warm soup takes more faith than what I have.
I believe nature has design written all over it.

Second I have had amazing prayers answered, I have felt God's presence, I have had questions answered about God soon after praying. Once I was praying and asking God a specific question. I didn't know the bible then. I just opened it up and wow it was right there in front of me. I know that's just one small thing but when you add up a thousand of these small things it makes you go hmmm.

Jesus the man was here and this is easily proven. Even well read atheists know this. We have non-christian documents about Jesus and his followers the christians.

If these apostles were here (and they were) why did they give up everything (their lives) for this man? What did they have to gain?
After Jesus was crucified they were in hiding. Scared they also would die. They weren't bold preaching the gospel.
It wasn't until after they saw Jesus alive again did they believe. Over 500 saw Jesus.

Pray about this yourself. You can tell God you are having trouble believing , he can take it. Ask him to help "in your unbelief". He will! Has has me many many times.

I have had some amazing supernatural experiences with the living God to share if you want to hear more.
He's real, He's there, and he loves you.

There are a lot of things we don't understand.
If you can look at nature, how could you not see a Creator.
You have to use faith to believe there either is a creator or the Universe is just here by chance. I believe there is a creator of all, and I see that in creation it self.
To believe in Jesus as the Son of GOD you must examine the facts. Historical records prove that Jesus did exist and he was crucified. To believe beyond this you must know of GOD's total plan. I trust GOD "YHVH" has sent a redeemer which we call "Jesus" to save us and I know one day I will be with GOD because I trust and believe in Jesus. This is called faith. No one can cause you to have faith. Faith must come from within yourself.

Not to be sarcastic or anything, but I have a hard time understanding how some people do not believe. The thing is that you have to open yourself up so that it can be revealed to you. If you do not fully open yourself up and go into with a condescending or ridiculing attitude then you will not experience anything. I have experienced God working in my life and have seen God working in the lives of others. And I can tell you from personal experience, when you see it, it is AMAZING!! People look at Christians and they just do not understand when we say that we have witnessed the power of God or seen evidence of Him or anything. A lot of people say that we are delusional. But, that is because they have already made up their minds not to believe and they are blinded to anything spiritual.

Edit: Someone provided a link to a site called evilbible. com That website has taken everything in the bible out of context and twisted it. It is yet another tactic by the evil one to confuse people. Do not be fooled with these websites. Advice: If you want to know what the bible says: READ THE BIBLE, not a website that claims to know what the bible says.

I hear your conflict.... First lets take the part about the fact that he lived "2000 years ago"
True Christian believe he is alive and well today as well. Although God may know all.... he does not necessarily controll all. He gave man free will. Thats why you have doubts!! It is what he expects! he wants you to question and LEARN about him. Our sins are forgiven by the death of Jesus the son of God, But we ask forgiveness daily for the short comings we all have, for instance you know your mother loves you no matter what and forgives you no matter what, BUT if you hurt her or wronged her would you not apologize and ask forgiveness? God id not just "up above" if you allow him to, he is within you and all man kind .

Jesus is not the only man so worshipped. There are many religions in the world, and Christianity is just one of them. Judaism said Jesus was not the Messiah, for example. Islam says Mohammed has the final word over the Bible, Torah, etc. Are you aware that Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, Shintoism, Zoroastrianism, etc. exist? I have studied them. I agree with you that such worship is ridiculous.

If your questioning you faith, then think about what you really think and believe without other things infuencing you so much. When it all comes down it nobody really knows, you might as well live your life believing what you truely believe yourself, instead of trying to believe something that has beed told to you that you are unsure of. I personally don't knwo about Jesus, but I do believe in God and that there is a reason for everything, even our suffering, just becasue we don't understand it doesnt mean its wrong.

I have faith and a belief in God and Jesus, because I have had personal experiences that I can not deny. I have found joy and happiness in my faith and would never want to lose it.

As for how can people believe in a man that lived many year ago...there are many men who lived many years ago, and dinosaurs which people believe in, so why are you so amazed?

When Jesus died He covered our sins, so that when we ask forgiveness we will receive it. Plus asking god to forgive us, helps us to forgive ourselves.

Have a great day

there is no god. any rational, intelligent person can clearly see that fact. i was raised roman catholic and believe me, i tried to believe. but really, how can any intelligent person look at the world and buy into that? god is a crutch, a tool to keep people in line, to control the masses. this is one sheep that strayed far from the flock.
i do believe that a man named jesus christ lived over 2000 years ago, but there is no way way that he was the son of god.
