The graduate is a child of a co-worker. Thank you.

Well, it depends on your relationship. Is this co-worker a good friend and do you know the child? Or is it more of a polite giving. In the first case, $50 would be good, if that is within your budget. In the latter I would give $20. Sometimes I am overwhelmed with the number of gifts I should provide, and that will of course affect what I can give.

A friend of a co-worker $20. A family member $50

I agree with $20--unless you're particularly flush or particularly close to the graduate or the kid, then throw in a bit more. If you'd like to spend less, I'd recommend buying a gift instead. I imagine you know whether the kid's staying at home, going off to college, etc, so it shouldn't be hard to get something generic but still useful and personal seeming. For instance, when I graduated, someone spent maybe five bucks on some silverware and bowls at a dollar store and wrapped up a couple of boxes of cereal. It was fun, original, and great for my dorm room--and cost less than ten bucks.

thanks for asking this question. I actually were bothered with the help of this predicament. For a intense college commencement, i imagine that $one hundred is somewhat a lot. i become pondering someplace between $25 and $50. it really is complicated at the same time as there are a number of nieces and nephews contained in the subsequent few years, to set an truly intense volume and then might want to tournament this each and every time.

$50 to $100 depending on how close a family member they are.

usually for family i'd go with $50+, but if it's just a co-worker's child then i'd go with $20-$30. I'm sure whatever you give will be appreciated!

In Michigan, $40 is typical. If it is close family and you can afford it, then give $50 or more.
However, standard ediquet would say that you give what you can afford.

i would guess $10 if you never see the kid. $20 if you see this person on a regular basis, i guess it also depends how many people you are bringing to the party.
