This was written after several centuries of torturing "heretice."

“Bodily torture has ever been found the most salutary and efficient means of leading to spiritual repentance” (Pope Innocent IV, AD EXTIRPANDA, A.D. 1252).

And “Jesus wept” (John 11:35).

No, Torture has never been an effective means of extracting information.
As to using it as a means of leading someone to Spiritual repentance?!
That is ridiculous, someone who is being tortured will say anything to stop it, it would not be sincere.
The Gospel message is not supposed to be preached and taught in this manner, it is contradictory to what Jesus wanted.
The Pope who said that....well..he was wrong, that's the Problem with Catholicism.

Tripod Hosted=Crap.

Now that that's out of the way, I did a report on Torture earlier this year, and I wouldn't wish that crap on anyone. More often than not they'd say they changed to simply escape it. Look it up sometime, it's a pretty interesting subject. Anyways, that Pope quote is from 1252, not 2007. We've realized now that no one deserves to be Tortured, if they want to convert, let them do it on their own time.

In my opinion torture should be used for everything (im pessimistic). But basically everything is a sin, torturing someone is a sin so I guess toture isnt the answer, repenting and then having someone kill you would be the ultimate way into heaven if you think about it for a minute.

Torture and wholesale slaughter didn't work in the French Holy Wars, nor the 30 Years War, nor the Reconquista Wars. All started by Christians by the way.
Didn't work then, its certainly won't work today.

Yes. I think Jesus himself said, ''yay, come, so that the small animals and sinners may be tortured, and thereby come closer to me, your father, in heaven"

I think it was somewhere near the back of the bible. Thats usually where things get interesting!

It's just one of the strategies that religious people use.

The Bible Code is nonsense, and demonstrably so. You can find such "codes" in any large book. So, it really doesn't reveal anything, except yet another way people can play with numbers and words.

Oh, and one more thing... God is just superstition.

No.

James 4:9, 10
Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
