It seems that the VHS is the one speaking.

Hola, pertenezco a una mujer española. Aquí hasta hace algunos años el sistema VHS de video era muy usado, pero ha sido reemplazado desde hace aproximadamente un año, por el DVD. ¿Cuándo sucedió esto en los Estados Unidos? Todo el mundo dice que ustedes están años luz por delante.

In order to answer if your translation is correct the original might be needed.
Any english speaker could tell you however if your text is well constructed and gramatically right
Since I don't know the original I will do what I can:

>Hello I belong to Spanish woman,
(Is the vcr the one speaking?)
>here until a few years ago the video VHS was very used but it(he)
(it)
> is being
(has been?)
>replaced for 1 year approximately by the DVD. In the USA when this happened(passed)??? The whole world says that us "llevais" light years...
(could it be "The whole world says the US are light years ahead"?)

You have some parts that you quite don't have right. On your pronoun for VHS remember that in the english language we don't differentiate between masculine or feminine so it is just it for nouns that are things. Keep trying, you'll get it!

Is this some sort of stream of consciousness questioning?
