This can be explained in many ways. The best i like is what Hanumanji told Sitamata about his relation with Lord Rama. Hanumanji said

In body consciousness I am a servant & Tool of Rama
In soul consciousness I am a part of shri Ram

In Brahmm consciousness I am Ram myself..there is no Hanuman
***********
Another explaination from Tantra philosophy is also interesting. As per Tantraa philosophy there are eight bondages/chains which bind soul to the Maya. These bondages are Ghrina (Hate), Lajjaa (Shame), Bhaya (Fear, shankaa(Doubt), Jugupsaa(censure/reproach), Kula (caste), Jaati(creed) and Sheela (Modesty).

Any consciousness which is bound by these 8 bondages is called Jiva (Individual soul) and the consciousness who is free from all these chains is called Sadashiva (Universal consciousness - Free soul/God).

So a Jiva is Shiva with 8 chains...and Shiva is Jiva without these chains

The difference is in the amount of light (and possibly also the electromagnetic frequency and wavelength)...

1 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light....
... 5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

(Matthew 17:1-2, 5)

Jesus was "transfigured" so that "his face did shine like the sun"... and God was also very shiny (within the bright cloud). Humans are by nature more "base".... an energy less pure and refined, a lower frequency. It could be like comparing red light to white light.

As we seek God our auras change colour. My husband and I had our aura photos taken a few years back. So did my 2 year old daughter. My husband's was purple (intuition) and blue (communication) with a white patch over his head (receiving divine energy), a pink patch over his heart (love) and gold patches interspersed (I can't remember what the gold is, but it's a pretty spiritual kind.) My aura was almost completely orange (exhilaration, creativity) with red edges (stress). My daughters aura was compeltely red (base chakra - focused on needs being met).

It shows some of the different possibilities for humans... God's "aura" is SO pure and so bright white that we couldn't see Him without first being transfigured (changed) like Jesus was.

Just as a small comparison to the light attained through seeking divinity, look into the faces of some devoutly loving and practicing believers (ie "pure in heart"), whether they be Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Mormon, Hindu or other. Look into the faces of a chain smoker and/or alcoholic, or someone who is in gaol (jail). Compare on contrast. You really can see the difference in "light" even with the naked eye.

P.S. Looking into the face of a baby can also be a lesson in "light".

We are asked to pray and bow to Him to remove our ego. To annihilate our pride and ignorance which has so far made us believe that our true identity is this physical body. But, we pray to become more humble. We go from place to place to keep our minds busy thinking of Him so that we don't get distracted by worldly activities. But, once your ego is completely vanquished, you wouldn't need to go anywhere. You will see that He is everywhere, outside and inside. You will realise that it is He who exists in you and all. And you will realise that there is no difference between you and Him. The divine energy is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient. There is no difference. We are all one.

That divine energy is all pervading right now in your heart. You just need to dive in, to seek the infinite, and finally, this world which is a mere thought, an illusion will cease to exist. That's when you will know that you are only "Nothing". You are just "THAT". We know Him by different names, allah, ishwar, God, Brahman. But it's all the same. The one and only infinite.

Know that you "ARE". Then you will know "Nothing".

God does not differ from us. You can become one with God.We are a spark from God.(2) Divine energy is within you , me, &everyone. We have moved out of God, (3) Life energy is the life force which keeps us alive on this Earth. (4)You need not go from place to place. Sit in your room ,meditate daily to raise the SAKTHI- divine energy from the base of spine to forehead. Autobiography f ayogi tells how to practice kriya yoga.

I do not exist and only God exists is the main difference. God is neither energy nor a person. First of all, my blood is not mine, but inherited from parents, my hands and legs are not mine as I am unable to make it more or less healthy, my brain is also not mine as the surroundings make impact in me and I start thinking how to overcome it. Thus, none of my physical or mental parts, solid, liquid or gas, is mine and I have not created anything so far, but I still enjoy with all these. So, where is "I". Hence, there is somebody behind me, TO MAKE ME FEEL MYSELF, controling me from inside of thinkings. My energy is activated with such thinkings and the inspiration from it. So, emotions are behind energy, including thunder and lighting. Emotions are lust, anger, hope, mise, pride and competition, (whosoever the opponent). Thus what I say as my energy is under the control of these emotions. Rewind back, again, we can see a lot of things behind the emotions and feelings. So there is something there and of-course, he may not be in the form of human as he has created a lof of lives on earth and other parts of the Universe. When I say that I am a part of the Universe, my mind becomes more broad and great. Thus Comeon ....let us proceed to enjoy the pleasure of His creations. WHAT I SAY AS "I" OR "MYSELF" IS HIS PART IN ME AND ACTUALLY HE IS ENJOYING THE LIFE, NOT MYSELF.

Divine energy and life energy are indeed different. One is external and one is internal. Unfortunately some people can't keep them separate. Like when a football player scores a touchdown, he crosses himself in the endzone and points to the sky. I don't understand that. It was his internal energy and strength that earned him that touchdown, not a divine energy.

Christianity is an example of seeking external energy, Buddhism is an example of seeking internal energy.

We think firmly that this body is me. I am this body. That is called Ego.
But life(Playground of learing) teaches us we are not this body. Then we go to think about soul. Soul none knows about it.
Then we seek to know about soul. To know about it clearly we have to shed this Petty Ego. For which we seek the divine energy or the energy of the Soul. Soul recieves its energy from divinity.

It is like this a drop of ocean is also ocean. So is our souls energy is also energy of divinity.

Hope I have conveyed something. If not able to understand send me mail.

As per Hindu belief, God and all His creations are one and the same.We are not the body which is encasing us, but the Soul which dwells in all of us. That such Souls are indeed God Himself.
The pity is that most of us are not even aware of this precious truth. This ignorance comes on account of our being misled by our sensory organs. This ultimately leads us to think that we and God are two different entities altogather. As our souls gather a lot of earthly memories during its zillions of repeated births, we are completely out of focus of this fact and consider that we are only this body. This kind of false identification with the body leads us to accumulate enormous Karma and thus paving the way for innumerable births on earth.
Therefore it is necessary to get back on the path of realising the Truth that we are Divinely Souls and not the destroyable body. The only recourse available for such a search is Meditation.
Constant meditation leads one to cessation of all activities in us including Thought, and a vacuam happens. When such state occurs, the Divine Energy descends on us. This state is variously called Realisation, Nirvana, Gnana etc. When such a state is arrived at, then the Soul is rid of all the previous memories(Vasanas) of earthly desires.
All the Saints and Sages have stressed that such realisation is the ultimate goal of every human birth.
"Tat Twam Asi" Thou art That, aptly describes this truth.
The easiest path to gain momentum in such realisation is to adopt Love, Compassion, Forgiveness and Sacrifice in one's day today life. These traits will ultimately lead one to the unwavering path of God.

There is a Scripture where Jesus is talking to a boy's father, and the boy is troubled with a demon. Jesus tells him the boy can be restored if he believes. The man cried out, "Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief." Sounds contradictory, but isn't that as real as it gets? We want to believe, but sometimes find it hard to. We pray, and then say, "Are you really there? Do you really hear?" God is different in that He has infinite power, sight and knowledge. We can trust Him.

finally, love comes from interior of us. that would not prevent the prospect that it may well be predicated by utilising some otherside source, divine or otherwise. a minimum of element of the inspiration to love has to do with the conception that residing with love helps us to stay more beneficial ideal lives. in the adventure that your life is crammed with love, that more beneficial than its own advantages; in the adventure that your life is crammed with hate, you're the only carrying round that negativity. From my own adventure...and from chatting with others...there is an fairly genuine "larger" or more beneficial non secular love that has to do with growing more beneficial attentive to ourselves, others and all that exists in creation. am i able to prepare this to you? probably no longer, yet there are some issues in life we ought to locate for ourselves. astounding needs!
