The best spiritual retreat I have ever gone on was the one within my mind. In fact, I don't think I will ever leave this retreat, because... 1- It's FREE! & 2-There is no better! *wink*

But, I must say... while it has been a wholly (holy) enriching experience, I encountered some 'bullies' (they went by the names of:: fear, doubt, & insecurity!)

Watch out for those three; I think they go around to all spiritual retreats, rearing their inflated heads! Don't let them get to you, for they have NO power over anything!

Peace and Love!

I've attended two Buddhist retreats. one, the primary, for every week. The second, for three. There used to be an expand in meditation, visualization and contemplation time. Quiet foods...and discussions at night time time. Then again to our tiny cabin. When I again to the truly international I felt as though I had entered one more planet. Everything gave the impression so alien. Of direction in time I used to be included into the society once more, however didn't put out of your mind what discoveries I'd made throughout retreat. These I placed into train into day-to-day residing.

I've been twice. The Green Gulch in Northern California. It was peaceful to know, experience and be in the environment of so many like minded others.

What did I learn . . .Well, I'm almost embarrassed to say...but I learned that I don't like to meditate as long as some others do. I had attended an overnight retreat there once and at one point they meditated for about 4 or so with a few 10 min. silent breaks in between and one 30 min. silent break which included a light meal...a soup/broth of sorts. I do meditate but not nearly as long as they do. What does that say about me ? Not really sure. Yet, I'm fine with relationship and how I connect with all and the One . . . so I'm at peace with that.

I very much enjoyed the surroundings and experience.

Yes, I went to church camp as a kid where we sang religious songs around campfires. I learned that I enjoy being in nature. I also eventually learned that the songs were silly.
