My vision is crap and I compete in NRA large Bore Long Range Competition(50 cal at 1,00 yds) and my son is blind in one eye and competes at Jr. Small Bore and is a Local Boy Scout Champion Marksman with .22 and Black Powder.

It has little effect on shooting skill, so if you can physically and mentally qualify the eyesight thing unless a show stopper for getting into the service , isn't really a problem.

Skill, and mental make-up are far more important.
