I will be working as an independent contractor soon and will have to pay my own taxes. Any suggestions on how to find a decent bookeeper?

Recommedations from friends, business associates. Contact the chamber of commerce in your area for a listing of names. Check each one out by getting references. Good luck with your new venture.

E-mail me with details. I can probably do the job.

I've worked in bookkeeping and accounting for 20+ years, been a tax professional for 16 years and an Enrolled Agent for 6 years.

I've done the bookkeeping and tax returns for many small businesses ( Sch C, S-corp and LLC)

I had three applicants for a bookkeeping job. I asked the first one how much two and two was and he told me four. I thanked him and asked that he send in the next applicant and the same answer was given to me. I asked for the next applicant. He pulled down the window shades, used a handheld device to sweep the room for listening devices; then I asked him how much was two and two? He responded by asking me what I wanted it to be?
