I wonder if this is a xanthoma due to cholesterol? Is the lump yellowish? If so you have to have it removed surgically.

See your doctor to have it biopsied…but don't worry, okay? I recently had a fine needle biopsy done on a lump in my breast which fortunately turned out to be benign.

Your lump could be ANYTHING - a sty or cyst even, but don't wait. If it's on top of your eyelid, then at least it's small enough to be excised before it has the chance to become a bigger problem. I hope that gives you some comfort.

My 4yr old daughter sometimes has this lump on top of her eyelid; went to doctor who said cos of a virus (though I think may be due to body heatiness). Then gave an eyewash and eye antibiotic(Fucithalmic), within 2 days the lump is gone.

Not sure if yours is the same thing but juz share the info.

a few years ago I had a lump on my upper eyelid that got bigger and bigger but no pain. Finally went to dr. and it was a fatty cyst. He lanced it and then squezzed until he got the core out. no scar and it has never come back. You should go to dr. - Good luck to you
