You find it peculiar that socialist, relativistic, pacifist, want to remove God from our country? Why they know that every believer in a divine establishment will value their freedom enough to fight for it. That's why it is taken away incrementally so there is no out right revolution. That gotta get rid of the Bibles, churches, guns, create some overall chaos(global warming/sky is falling) to enslave people into there elitist solutions. First the have to break down nationalism, church, families, and your ability to choose. They know you need the govt to choose for you.

When you say "our" you mean yours. America was not founded on Christian beliefs, it was founded so everyone could choose their own way of believing. By only putting up Christian symbols you ignore that not everyone believes the same way you do.
I don't care either way if the word 'god' is in the Pledge of Allegience. It doesn't threaten my belief system. What I DO have a problem with are laws being made according to how people choose to interpret the Christian faith, or any other religion. Religion has no place in lawmaking.

I can understand, you being a believer in the Christian God, how you don't fully understand what freedom of religion means. I really can. Your particular god is worshipped by the majority of your country.
Freedom of religion however, True Freedom, means that your freedom ends where mine starts. And mine ends where yours starts. Which means that everybody has the freedom to worship whatever god they want. Even no god.
Putting god in schools, on the money in the 1950's, on the pledge in 1954 was an insult to that freedom of religion. Believers in Zeus or any other god were insulted in their freedom by that. Believers in no god were also taken a part of their freedom away when that happened.
What's happening now is nothing more than undoing prior injustices.
It's sad to see how many Christians have no clue about what True Freedom of Religion means. Nobody is taking away your right to worship, pray or whatever. But your Christian legislations are taking away freedoms of other minority religions.

The separation of church and state is a political and legal doctrine that our founding fathers saw as fitting for the good of this country. If you would like religion in the school your child attends, there are private schools that cater to your choice. It is not lawful for the state to endorse any religious belief or practice. You cannot compare enforcing this legal doctrine to the Spanish Inquisition in which Jews and Muslims were tortured and killed by a government that was Christian.

How much will it take for you to understand that
a- This is NOT a Christian country. We have no official religion.
b- It is ridiculous to ask people who don't believe in the Christian God to constantly invoke him.
c- There are many many religions in the US, and they ALL deserve equal time.
When you become willing to have Allah, Buddha, Zeus, and every other God mentioned equally along with yours, (which will never happen), the debate will end. You people refuse to accept the fact that this country is a melting pot of race, religion, and color, and you have NO RIGHT to force your brand of God on everyone.
Enough with the Christian persecution bs, all right? Walk in the shoes of a Muslim for a day, then come back and tell us how bad Christians really have it here in the US.

u could ask the same question about the ppl who insist that it be on everything in govt. y, if ur faith is so unshakable, do u have to be reminded of His Name everytime u print a dollar? what about the Treaty of Tripoli, in which James Madison stated that "the United States is in no wise founded upon the Christian religion"? to say that the usa was founded upon Judeo Christian values is to deny that yes, it has the word Creator in the Constitution, but the vast majority of the signers were Deist. read ur history, read into the real religious beliefs of the Founding Fathers. Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, Adams, Henry, Madison all were Deist.

BEWARE THE LEADER WHO BANGS THE DRUMS of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind. And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed, the leader will have no need in seizing the rights of the citizenry. Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear and blinded by patriotism, will offer up all of their rights unto the leader and gladly so. How do I know ? For this is what I have done. And I am Caesar."

You are crying "foul" when it is actually Christians guilty of "foul". I,speaking for myself, think the "inquisition" as you put it,is being perpetuated BY Christians. I have no objection to you worshipping.Churches of every flavor are everywhere. There is no movement to recite "there is no God" in school to oppose the Christians desire to pray in school. There is no movement to have the 10 commandments replaced with monuments saying "There is no God"The pledge did not have under god in its' original form. Religion should be voluntary, not forced. You would have a point if there were movements by atheists as I described, but there is not. You are absolutely free to believe as you wish. I simply don't want to be forced to believe what you believe. This country was founded not by people who said this will be a Christian nation, but rather, people wishing to have the freedom to worship as they please. So,worship as you please,at home,at church, anywhere you wish. But do not FORCE me,nor attempt to force me,to worship YOUR god.

No, an inquisition would be changing "In God We Trust" to "God Doesn't Exist". Taking it off of what one should render unto Caesar should be in everyone's interest.

Because there are so many different religions in the world, no schools should show preference to any one religious belief. Unless the school is a religious school.
