from intelligent people of faith seems to be difficult to find.
Sometimes there are a few great insights from christians but not that often.
The debate is not about God the debate is about how ridiculous the bible is

Any quote from the bible I can quote back the contradiction. This would make any literature especially of faith not on the top 10 list

Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer.
Your logic is deeply flawed so don't look for logical answers, as well.

Why is it that the people who say that they can't find any intelligent people to debate with, are a little low on the IQ scale themselves?
You say you can refute anything and everything the Bible says? That's nonsense! There must be billions of statements in the Bible. There must be at least 1 or 2 that are correct.
Also, for you to be able to refute a billion statements, you must know not only a billion facts, but they must be exactly the billion facts that are mentioned in the Bible! I don't think so.
Lastly. Logic depends on correct premises. If A=B and if B=C, then A=C only works if A does actually =B and if B=C. This works fine in mathematics but not in real life because the premises are supposed to be self evident. But evident to who?
The human mind is not capable of knowing all the facts in the universe nor in understanding all their relationships. For a human being to say that I can't see the logic in what God says, therefore either God is wrong or that there is no God, is both the height of arrogance and the height of stupidity!
Oh, by the way. Who put you in charge of Yahoo R&S to push anyone out of anything?
I thank God that He has promised to save me from your intelligence.

First of all it's not really a debate if you're pointing out right off the bat that you think the bible is ridiculous. What you should be doing to start an intelligent debate is posing a question that's not going to set people off right away. By saying that the bible is ridiculous you've automatically pissed people off, which doesn't lead to any sort of intelligent discussion.

Passage 1 Timothy 1:3-7:
Warning Against False Teachers of the Law
3As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain men not to teach false doctrines any longer 4 nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. These promote controversies rather than God's work—which is by faith. 5The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. 6Some have wandered away from these and turned to meaningless talk. 7They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm.
many people present arguments against the Bible. I haven't found one that I buy. I think them through. I study them rather than ignore them bc/ I don't fear debate and I'm not unlogical or irrational either. Your contradictions are taken out of context either of the stories' audiences or their actual meaning.

You say that you find the bible to be ridiculous. Does this include the life and teachings of Jesus? If God could inspire people by the Holy Spirit to write scripture, could He not just as easily illuminate each of us and bypass all the confusion created by the bible?

This is "Yahoo Answers", and in order to get an "intelligent answer", you must first ask an intelligent question. You've ranted, but not asked anything. And you have the audacity to claim that people of faith, who have intelligence are hard to find? Perhaps a mirror is appropriate right now....go look in it.

I completley agree with you. In my opinion, everything said in the Bible that was not said by Jesus himself is to be taken with a grain of salt. I do believe Jesus was the son of God, and that he had great things to say that could have helped us, if we would just listen to it. Instead most Christians hold the words of the OT or Paul to be the truths of God when they were written by mere men with mere ideas. Adam and Eve? The entire human race being inbred? It's all mythology. I can't believe people really believe this crap. I'd say maybe we need Jesus to come here again and set us straight, but we'd just kill Him all over again.

Your premise shuts the door on logical discussion and logical answers. Sorry to disappoint. There is no basis for a debate here unless one accepts your premise, and I--for one--do not.

You want logic. OK. Is it logical to steal? Is it logical to treat people the same way you yourself would like to be treated. Is it logical not to tell lies. Is it logical not to harm another person. Is it logical to respect other people and their beliefs. If so then logically the bible teaches the right things.
