i have a ludwig muniger painting appraised between 15-18 thousand, where would i begin to look for the best possible price?

Check with your local galleries to see if they will sell it on consignment for you., make sure you ask them what percentage they charge to do this. A way to do it and make more money would be to list it on ebay. I know a lot of art collectors who scan ebay daily. If you have a certificate of authenticity or an art appraisal document you will get more money for it also

Find a specialised auction house 'near' you. You can only get a good price if many want to buy it. A specialised auction is THE way to go in this.
