ADHD or ATTENTION DEFICIT HYPER DISORDER is a serious condition and what you see is what you get with these guys. They canot help it. Is he on meds? If not, it is worst. They cannot focus on anything long. My ex of 6 years looked at television by constantly peeking at me out the corner of his eye to see if I said something he missed. He hyper-focused when he watched TV. ,. . that means that everything else blanked out for him. The fire in the kitchen, the phone or doorbell, the dog biting a neighbor on the front lawn, he would never hear anything else except the TV. This also happened when he read books.
The upside is that they make great lovers because they hyper-focus on pleasing their partners as well and are usually very submissive to suggestions as to what you want them to do. Other wise, they talk as if you have heard the whole sentence, when they only gave you parts of a sentence. They are not very affectionate for long with hugs and all. Compliments are thought of but not spoken by them much.
If you need a lot of attention from your man daily, don't get involved with an ADHD or AADD man. (adult attention deficit disorder)

I know I'm ansering a question with a question here, but if you felt appreciated by dudes without ADHD, then why did you drop them to go out with an inattentive dude? Has he been officially diagnosed? If you were happier dating guys without ADHD, then I would say go date normal fellas again. If it's driving you crazy now, it will drive you crazy in the future. There are ways to reign in the symptoms of ADHD, and if he's not willing to try and change then, in my opinion, it's time to move on.

You say what the heck like your surprised. Does your relationship sound like this: "I love you sweet-p.... ooh a butterfly... hey you wanna go ride bikes... I hate you and were over...pea."
Anyhow I don't know enough about ADHD to say if it always turns guy into inattentive jerks. But hey it is definetly possible, I mean anyone distracted constantly by shiny colors will be inattentive, blame crayola.
ADHD to blame or not inattentive is inattentive. Its not a reason that can excuse him, it is a reason to dump him. You get rid of a guy that is a jerk because he is a jerk. So you can get rid of a guy that is inattentive because of ADHD because he is inattentive, there is nothing wrong with that. That is who he is and you don't like who he is.
Good luck!

My boyfriend has ADD and he is the most thoughtful, affectionate sweet guy. I think lots of guys are jerks, ADHD or not. They don't think like us. You can't change them, so you have to be okay with him or move on. Good luck!
