My GPA sucks, by now it is 1.0 and I haven't get the results of the semester that just finished 1 week ago but I expect my GPA to get like 1.5 or 2.0. I know, BYU requires a 3.0 GPA which is what I am going to work on as hard as I can to get for the fall semester at the community college that I'm attending.
What happens is that I want to transfer for Winter 2008 and I know, it's kind of too fast, and the deadline for transfers is October 1st. I am active in chucrch, start (tomorrow) to volunteer in a hospital, would this help me?
But my point is, if I apply for the Winter session and I get rejected, and then I increase my GPA for the next semester (s) and I apply for Summer again, would that affect my status to have applied before and being rejected? would they considere me for admissions?
I haven't yet because I am a new LDS convert but I have all the intention to start institute ASAP. What are my chances?

Well, if you are applying after you have gone to another college, you would be considered a transfer student, and I think admissions for transfer students are different. But I'm not sure. I know that out of state applicants get better attention then in state. More out of states are accepted over in state. But your grades will be an issue. If you wait and keep your grades up for a few semesters, instead of just one, that will show you are committed to keeping them up, and will get you in better.
The fact that you are a convert won't really factor in too much. Right now, the are accpeting more non-LDS then LDS. I think it's because they are trying to show that the university isn't just for church members.
Here's a link to their site. You can check things, get numbers to call for info, and search all the degrees they offer. Maybe calling and talking to an admissions person would help! Good luck!!!
Oh- just so you know, I live across the lake from BYU, and had looked into going there for my nursing degree. Their nursing program is excellent!! Anyways, I decided on a different school in the area, but they are still one of the best for a lot of programs!!!

You can apply as many times as you like. It is just that until your GPA goes up, you will expect to get the same results. If you live out of state of Utah, you have a slightly better chance of getting in to BYU as they favor out of state applications (I do believe, since BYU is a worldwide Church and not just a Utah Church).
Work on your GPA and that should be the key.

Your chances are nothing if you don't go into action. You should really talk to a guidance counsellor in your university for better info than you would get on Yahoo. Be sure you clear up the basic words & terms of your subjects in a good dictionary. I found this the best way to raise GPA.

BYU has a special summer program for students who didn't get accepted. Since classes generally don't fill in the summer, they'd let you come and take classes in the spring/summer terms.
If you do well, and get very good grades during that summer term, you can generally get accepted for the normal fall/winter semesters.
Good luck

Yes, you can apply again.
No, your past rejection will not affect your new application.
In fact, it's easier to apply the second time because you've already paid your 1x application fee and they will have the majority of your information. You'll just need to resubmit your transcripts and get a new ecclesiastical endorsement.
