I want to go camping but every campground is full. I don't need all the amenities. I just want to put my tent up and sleep for a few nights. Is this legal?

Nope, sorry. You need a permit and most places you need to notify a ranger that you're heading out somewhere and let them know when you plan to return (so they can go look for you if you don't come back) and you have to pay a fee of course...

There are places that are not reservable. It's first come first served, so if you show up before anyone else does you'll get a spot!
