No. I don't care who told you they were okay, but they are not safe for anyone. The only way to lose weight, and have it stay off, is by eating less, moving more, and drinking lots of water. Eat only when you're hungry; not bored. Don't go to bed on a full stomach. For exercise, swimming is the best. Also, taking a brisk walk without stopping is great. Try to gradually work up to 30 minutes. Stay away form sugar and fried foods. Eat lots of fruits and veggies, fish (tuna in water is great), white meat chicken without the skin, and lean meat. Never overeat. Quit before you're full. It takes ove 20 minutes for you to feel full. You can do it!! Good luck!

I don't think that diet pills are a good idea especially at such a young age. A lot of the diet pills are expensive and have not been proven effective. Also they can be only used for small amount of time while you have to maintain the weight for the rest of your life. Also there are a lot of chemicals that you are introducing to your body which can be very harmful. I think a better idea is to see what unhealthy food you eat too often and limit it. Also exercise regularly if only for 15 minutes and make little changes like taking the stairs instead of elevators or escalators.

I know this sounds weird, but don't take them because you have a great deal of growing to do within yourself, particularly your bones.

I have had severe osteoporosis and have had over 60 fractures. No one know exactly why, but part of it is due to my dieting when I was a teen. I just was not getting enough calcium to lay down the amount of bone tissue needed for "peak bone mass." You are right in the age that you need to build up this mass.

If you start any diet pills there is a good chance you will not be eating all the vitamins and minerals necessary to avoid my type of problem in your future.

Diet with the help of your doctor or someone who can get you on the path of PROPER eating and not just cutting foods out.

This is SO important! Now that I'm 58 (and you will be too, don't forget!), I SO wish I could do it over again. At that time, we didn't know that peak bone mass occurs around age 18.
Perhaps I could have avoided all the complicated surgeries. They were not fun at all. They were extremely painful. I had to spend time in a nursing home for rehab! You wouldn't like it at all.

Make sure you drink a minimum of 3 glasses of milk. Make it skim milk and cut the calories.

Please don't make the same mistake I did.

You know, a doctor only prescribes diet pills for people who are 100 pounds or more overweight. That says a lot about diet pills in general.

If you're concerned about your weight then you discuss it with your doctor at your next visit for anything. Okay? A doctor will catch any early signs of an eating disorder and give you a professional opinion about what your diet and exercise should be like.

Hi,

I've tried so many different diets in the last 10 years that I can say now, they don't work!
A few months ago, I came across a great product for weight loss and like many others I was skeptical about it. But I really wanted to lose weight and I tried it. The results were excellent and I lost 20 pounds in 2 months. I felt fantastic and I dropped another 5 pounds safely. That's why I recommend you check this product at
http://www.freelstore.info where they have a free trial and you only pay 6.95$ shipping and handling.
Good luck!

its never safe to take diet pills. if they worked - dont you think there would be no obese people???
if you want to lose some weight (fat) then lose it healthy way
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

It's not that you are to young, no-one needs to be taking them. There are times that a Dr might prescribe them but only if it's really necessary. Just be pickier about what you drink, no pop, and kinda watch your diet a little. Less cheeses, more salads, less high fats and less sweets. Get moving more. Walking, riding bikes, skating, whatever you enjoy most. Just do it.
