They have all these humanly ungodly rituals. Worshiping archangels, and saints. Confessing and repenting their sins through mortal men. They pray to spirits. Pray for dead people, hoping they will find their way to heaven. I mean c'mon God isn't that dumb, and it is disrespectful to doubt God like that. Either you get saved or not your prairs won't do much. Not only are their rituals excessive. It serves no purpose other than for humanly purpose. Self gratifications. They might they they are being holy, but actually it's quite unholy.

I know what you are saying. I have pondered somethings myself. I agree 100%, but be careful not to judge.
God Bless

What you think is Christianity, in fact is not Christianity at all. You may wanna study some history before going anywhere further. It's not a sin to be confused, but it's a sin to blaspheme the Holy Spirit. Catholics may not have the Grace of the Holy Spirit, but so is the case with any other "branch" of "Christianity" that split off from the Roman Catholics.

First of all, your post is incredibly rude, and I hope that after some of the responses you have received, you will be a bit more careful with your wording in the future.

Secondly, most of your post is very, very misleading about the Catholic faith, and some of your post is just entirely untrue. Not to mention, you didn't even use one fact to support your issue with what you assumed that Catholics believe.

As Christians, we are to share the love of Christ with everyone, and not judge fellow believers on petty differences. If you do find that you strongly disagree with a certain practice, and you feel that you must speak out, please at least follow the right channel and speak to the leaders of the Catholic church. Posting inflammatory comments on Yahoo! Answers is certainly not going to give our faith the credibility and dignity that it deserves.

And for the record, I am not now, nor have I ever been, Catholic.

1. Devotion is different from worship
2. Sacrament of penance is not a confession to mortal men but to God
3. Maccabees wherein the Israelites made a collection to pray for the fallen dead
4. Rituals were established thorugh the instructions of God. If rituals are bad, then why did Jesus being a devout Jew also practiced them?
5. Sacraments were stablished by God and instructed by Jesus Christ. It has biblical basis. This makes it both sacred and holy.

Pastor Billy says: oy-veh my job is never done. Please read my yahoo questions to whom I'm assuming you would consider "the true Christians". Darling you've misrepresented Catholicism in your ignorance. That's okay because many persons such as yourself are instructed incorrectly about what Catholics believe and practise. Hopefully you will actually spend sometime searching for Catholic answers to Catholic questions instead of anti-Catholic answers founded in bigotry, slander and falsehood.

Go to the source pages listed below and do searches for your above claims ie. godly worship of Mary.

I am guessing that it is because you are uneducated, and enjoy insulting people in order to make yourself feel better. Ironically your insults of others out your own insecurity.

Were you a “real” Christian – whatever that means to you – you would know that Christ died, and rose again for all people – Even Catholics – even gentiles – and especially “real Christians” since they need it the most.

Someday you will understand that your hatred does not make you better. Someday.

And for the record – I am not Catholic.

I have not been too judgmental of Catholics but of course I don't examine their dogma as you have. I belief God is the best judge of people and their faith. However I have been attending a very Pentecostal Church lately and they would agree with your sentiments. I joined that church because my new wife has been a member of that faith so in deference to her faith I do that.

But in my heart I do not condemn the Catholic church. I know some good Catholics whose faith and character is unquestionable. So I leave all judgments to God alone. I suppose if my church members see what I wrote here I could be excommunicated from the congregation but if so, well that is how I feel in my heart.

It's quite obvious from your multiple questions that either you have some serious psychological issues related to Catholics and Catholicism (get some therapy) or are just foisting inflammatory diatribes on us in cyberspace hoping for some response to give you some inflated sense of purpose and importance (get a life). Either way, you need help.

You must remember that the reverse of what you say is true as well. I am sure devout Catholics will see your religious rituals as ungodly and unworthy of being saved as well. We must all remember that as a people we are a very diverse group in terms of culture, religion, worldview etc. My suggestion would be to attend Catholic services and make an appointment to speak to the priest. Approach it as research in order to learn more about others. The goal would not be to change your mind about them rather, to understand why they believe as they do.

And no, I am not a Catholic.

Perhaps you were incorrectly taught.
Perhaps we do not pray to the same God.
Wouldn't that be a shock.
Would you rejoice to see me in hell then?
I will ready my soul, so that you might be happy.
May all the angels and saints watch over you and help you.

You clearly know a lot about Catholicism and are very educated. In addition, you have supreme authority to determine what is and is not "holy." If you want to criticize something, you should study it first.
