What was the Busch series race where the driver hit an opening into the infield? I can't remeber if it was earlier this year or late last year but I thought that driver was going to be seriously injured. It was a hard impact and because of the opening the car came to a dead stop and didn't bounce off the wall at all. Also the one where Rusty's car disintegrated as it was flipping and spinning in the air. That car was SO demolished that you'd think Rusty was pretty messed up inside.

The 3 that comes to mind would be
1) Mike Waltrip crash at Bristol in 1991.
2) Mike harmon crash at Bristol in 2002 )video on you tube)
3) Phil Parson crash at Talladega in or about 1987.
There are others but these 3 were the worst to see a driver walk away.

Of the ones I have seen (since the mid-90s when I really started getting into NASCAR), Ricky Craven's crash at Talladega had to be the scariest. The car disintegrating, car falling from the top of the catchfence to the apron of the track pretty much. I couldnt even imagine.

Ricky Craven-Daytona I think it was 98, the car flipping and disintergrating
Ryan Newman- Daytona also forget the year same thing
forget the driver-believe it was Busch series ,during practice hits an open gate and tears the front end of the car off up to the firewall, then gets t-boned as he comes back down the track.

Michael Waltrip and Mike Harmon both had really scary wrecks at Bristol.

Go to youtube and type in michael waltrip nascar crash and you should be able to see both.

They both walked away without a scratch too.

When Tony Stewart went airborne backwards at the Daytona 500 in February 2001. He's my favorite driver and I just knew he was killed, but he wasn't. It's the same race that Dale Earnhardt died.
