I remember doing that when I was in elementary school.
I always just said it because I either couldn't really think of anything I learned that particular day that stood out/or was worth talking about, or just the fact that school was out and I didn't want to talk about school, I just wanted to play/do my own non-school thing.

I did it and it did drive my mother nuts. But I didn't like the fact that she was asking me. Why should I tell here what I did? From school, to dates to work to going to the library she would (and does) grill me on all the details. She said that i shouldn't have a problem telling her what she wants to know. Me? I just wanted some privacy.

Probably because they're tired and don't particularly feel like re-living the day. Especially when many of them find school boring and a waste of their time. Why would they want to dwell on it? They spent all day looking forward to going home.

Kids who tell their parents this, are probably bullied at school, teased because of their (lack of) fashion sense, are the last ones picked at gym class. Or they are the trouble makers, who cut class to smoke weed, steal others' lunch money and sneak to the arcade. Or maybe they're the meanies, who do the teasing, ostracizing of others and make their classmates' school lives miserable. In any way, these kids think that school is boring, just rhetoric and could not wait to get out.

because school is basically routine. You go to the same classes each day or do basically the same thing. Not too much new happens to tell . . .
yup, did it as a child. My mom didn't mind, she knew if something real good happened we'd say something.

i guess what they are really saying is, they did everything, but learned noting......lol. typicall kids huh
they say noting, cuse us adults would'nt understand the things they are learning, were old school remember....lol
yeah it drove them bonkers, and what parent has'nt been there.
but the real driving nuts part comes when we become adults,
we drive everyone nuts then, not just or parents, were more complicated then the kids,
i think our learning starts going backwards, instead of forwards, well thats way i see the world today
not going forward, only backwards
so loosen up on the kids
whos acting like they learned nothing, the know more then
us adults....hehehehe
(are we maturing or still learning, or growing or dying, or whinning or crying),
i think kids have learned something
being honest, and saying they did noting ,as us grown ups, we say we are doing something, but to have only gained nothing......lol

I did it, and I did it because I didn't think my mom would be interested. I know she was, and we were very close, but deep down inside I think I felt like what I was doing was childish, and she might not get it. I felt like I did the same thing day in and day out and although it was fun for me, she was way older and just might not get it.

I did this, and my kids do it. I feel if they did something really cool, fun, or was really proud of an accomplishment, they would tell me.
