Its in what you believe. In the bible it tells you how to live a heathly life spiritually as well as healthy and how to lenghthen your life span here on earth and by folloing the rules set for us we will be happier here on earth and rewarded greatly in heaven. Also everone sins and God knows this we try to do or best and he rewards us and I know this is the truth. I used to be a horrible person and by the love of Jesus Christ I am a better happier man. Hope this helps you out!

The Bible was written by men guided by the Holy Spirit. You don't have to follow what is written in it, but if you love God you want to try and follow it. It is a guide on how to stay away from sin and be closer to God. When you try to follow it, and pray you will be blessed in so many ways. If your mom or dad won't a book of memoirs outlining things they felt, decisions they made, people they loved, how they got by in life. Would question why they did it or would you heed some of their warnings. When people wonder how can I have a better life, the Bible is right there to tell them how. The Bible was written long ago, but still applies to people now. What other book can do that. It's the only book that lets you know everything thing you need to know about life, but never needs to be rewritten.

Do what thou Wilt shall be the Whole of the Law.
If you want, follow. If you want other things to read and then decide:
Principia Discordia
The Book of the Church of the SubGenius
Condensed Chaos
Pseudonomicon
Prometheus Rising
Oh, You're sane? So sorry to hear that.
Hail Eris! All Hail Discordia!

You have a choice.
Of course, there's nothing wrong with trying to live by high moral standards. Many people choose not to try because it's difficult, then they insist that standards should be lowered or that morality is foolish, to make themselves feel better about not trying.
As far as writing our own bibles, the huge glut of self-help books would fall into that category, and they fall far short of the original.

Well...I probably sound stupid to most people but it is very hard to beleive what the bible says. I mean, theres sooo many religions....and we HAD to have some kind of former b/c we could not of just came up from mud or whatever...but how did god get here? And it says he is the highest priority soo he couldnt of just been "POOF Im here" lol. But its ok to break the rules every once in a while. And its supposed to be here for guidence. But ask for forgiveness when you do mess up and ask your preacher about anything you want to know.
Im sorry you might not want to follow my advice concerning Im 12 and an atheist. But im real bored and I used to be BIG on my christianity sooo...you never know. It could work lol
Good night =]

if you were a believer in god and in his word then you wouldn't really need to ask this question. bibles are meant to guide us as is sacred tradition but it is a choice, a blessing. if you viewed the bible in its proper light then you would realize that it is not the work of humans in a black and white sense, where the human authors were able to use their individual talents god was able to reveal his truth through them. the topic is a deep one you may choose not to follow god,he/she gives us that choice. here are some sites that may help your understanding from a christian perspective

You don't *have* to, but you would certainly be wise to. How else will you get to know the heart of God and what He expects from you? There have been many times in my life where I've found encouragement and inspiration from the scriptures. Prayer is our way of communicating with God, but the main way God communicates with us is through His Word. If you're just praying and not reading your Bible, how is God speaking to you? I'm thankful I own a Bible. There are many countries where it is illegal to even own one. If there are passages that confuse you, then it's due to a lack of understanding. Ask God to make things clear. Or ask a trusted Pastor to help explain things that are confusing.
Finally, consider these verses:
"Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him." -John 14:21
"If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me will not obey my teaching." -John 23-24
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." -2 Timothy 3:16-17

We do not have to follow anything in the Bible if we choose not to. We do it because we love God and choose to be obedient. The Bible is like the owner's manual. It tells us how to keep ourselves in good working order, what preventative maintenance we need, and how to fix what goes wrong.

You need a good pastor to teach you what the Bible is about. If you have to ask this question, you haven't found one yet.

God has a purpose for us all and you may be content in the knowledge that you are indeed serving your purpose. He loves you and I love you for who you are deep inside and the wonderful person you show yourself to be to those who love you and are loved by you.
May God bless you eternally.
