Normally with rejection they don´t accept all the bible, only the part the fit with certain believe, fo example every time I ask them if angels are sons of God they say NO, but the bible say YES, but they don´t believe in the whole bible.
Even after reading the book of Job that said that the angels are sons of God, you will notice how many thumbs down I will have.

Like water off a duck's back. I believe what I believe in and that's my right, while they believe what they believe in and guess what? That's the right too. If people think I'm a bad Christian (which alot of 'religious' christians have said to me) then so be it, but I'll not think any worse of them, they have their spiritual journey to make, and me mine.
As for inter-faith controversies, I try to stay away from the details of religious doctines and instead discuss the broader concepts of spirituality. I'd say after reading your entire question through several times that this is another validation for the quote: God works in mysterious ways.

I am one of the not phony CHristians. I am still a sinner, not perfect. No one is. I still say a swear word once in a while. I get angry. I get caught up in gossip some times. I even sexually satisfied myself last week. There, I confessed. Please forgive me Lord. But I try my best and I am a better Christian today than I was a year ago and 5 years ago and definitely 15 years ago.
I haven't had any friends say I was wrong or bad in my faith. Many people thank me for opening their eyes. For teaching them things that they never knew. That they didn't fully understand. I am still learning and attend 2 Biblt studied weekly and and get enough of the Lord. I need to perfect my soul for it to enter the Kingdom of God and I won't stop until I die. Then I will face He and find out how well I did or didn't do. And whatever His judgment is I will have to live with and except.

Well, people or "Christians" who think like this don't bother me. I don't handle the dialogue with them because typically there is no dialogue. The "Christians" who think like this are not interested in hearing what other believe and why they believe it, they are only interested in their understanding, which to me is obviously limited.
I think very seriously that it shows a lack of intelligence, thought, sincere prayer, etc... on their part.
When I hear someone say that others don't believe in what they think is the "true Jesus", I wonder what they are thinking, because there is only one Christ.
If you are truly Christian, you know there is only one Christ and regardless of what anyone may believe in this life, if you are Christian, you believe that in essence we are all Christian, we are all children of our Father in Heaven even though others may not understand that, accepted it or believe it, it is correct.

The authority lies within God's Word and has nothing to do with my feelings.
Truth wins out over feelings ALWAYS.
If I can be shown to be wrong by the scriptures (in context and not the nonsense that so many in this Yahoo answers put out) then I must stand corrected accordingly personal feelings or not. (and this has taken place several times over the years as I have grown in the Word)

One of the marks of a superior mind is the ability to entertain an idea and not necessarily adopt it.
Everyone is free to think what they will. So in answer to your question, I myself handle criticism very well. I accept responsibility for my own actions and beliefs and that is all I can do to stay on this side of righteousness.

Thank you for that wonderful post
A lot of so called Christians say mean and nasty things
I don't understand. I think sometimes it is someone posing to be a Christian and are not and just want to make trouble
And some are just young in the Lord
Peace to all

I have had good friends who were non-Christian criticize the authenticity of my faith when I do or say such-and-such. I take that to heart. If a Christian, however, was getting legalistic on me (instead of real concern), I would tell them I don't care what they think. Go harass someone else.

The main thing when discussing the Bible and different theology is that no man completely understands everything the Bible teaches. The only thing that we have to be correct on is that Jesus' blood is the only thing that can save us from our sins. I go into a discussion with that mindset and to try and learn something from the discussion.

I am a christian but not a saint. I realize that alot of people consider themselves christian because they attend church and moreso just because they are believers. I feel sorry for those that truly believe that's what makes a christian.
