A lot of people are going to be in shock when they learn the damage cannabis has done. Previous studies of long-term effects were among users who smoked much milder marijuana. In the past decade, the potency of average marijuana has more than tripled. New talk about Marijuana causing lung cancer quicker and Rb1 receptors being blocked which can cause fibrosis and even lead to cirrhosis of the liver. (Deadly liver disease)

"Dank" (street term for seedless, more potent herbs) that is now smoked regularly has many other chemicals, (as well as bacteria, viruses, and fungi) which are used to cultivate these more potent forms of marijuana. Every chemical that is introduced to your body is ultimately filtered through your liver.

10-15 years ago, the marijuana you bought off the street was likely grown naturally in soil. This isn't the case anymore; each batch of marijuana you smoke could have different effects depending on the methods used to grow the herbs. (Aeroponics, hydroponics, artificial lighting, chemical enhancers, etc)

I’m in no way saying smoking marijuana occasionally = disease and death. There are drugs that are far more dangerous for you than marijuana. That doesn't make it ok to smoke on a regular basis. Some smokers are in utter denial that marijuana is bad for them. I used to be a regular smoker, I know it's much easier to make yourself believe what you're doing won't kill you than to face the truth and quit. No one is going to tell you how to live your life; obviously, you have the right to make your own choices. Just remember, hundreds of people die everyday from the decisions they make. Weather you're drinking a 6 pack of beer a day or smoking over a gram of weed a day, for every action there is an equal reaction. Educate yourself, make your own choices, and live with them.

Marijuana is harmless. Not one person has died from marijuana use only. Smoking is the most primitive way of consuming marijuana but it is relatively harmless if you don't smoke it more than a couple times a day. If you are a heavy user it would be wise to switch to a vaporizer. A good vaporizer is more efficient at delivering THC and does not contain the hundreds of chemicals found in combusted smoke.

As in, bad for you? Yeah, it probably is - but it's really bizarre that it's illegal, since it's much less bad for you than lots of legal substances, such as alcohol, tobacco and trans fats.
