I'm not sure but i think i might have a slight case of O.C.D. I have to keep everything even but not just objects but myself. If lets say i bang my knee on a table, i would have to bang my other knee with the same amount of force to even it out. If when im washing my hands and a drop of water drips on my foot, i would have to drop a drip on my other foot at the same spot. If i dont do it then it'll just annoy me cuz i feel unbalanced. I also wash my hands alot when i touch certain things like the doorknob cuz i dont like the smell of it (it has a stinky metal smell to it) or even dishwashing liquid for the same reason (without the metal part) i need to use regular soap. I wasnt born with these habits, they just started maybe a year ago and its not serious enough that i lose sleep or anything but it can be quite annoying. So is it O.C.D. or just some bad habits?

I'm not sure about OCD for sure, but lots of mental conditions, including things like Alzheimers, are diagnosed based on a functional decline.

So, what this means is that unless your life is being disturbed, which you said it was not, you may be far from the definition of the disease. No matter how compulsive you are, you will not be diagnosed with the condition unless there is a functional impairment.

This sort of condition qualification is partly due to the fact that we cannot 100% identify a mental condition through physical observations as we can for say, a virus. Another part is that there is no need for treatment unless it is a life problem. So, we dont even bother to label it.

Congratulations! You probably don't have OCD, you've just joined the ranks of people who like to feel balanced, clean, slightly perfectionist, etc.

Brother, it sure sounds like OCD to me, and not a "slight" case, either. At first, I thought you may just be a perfectionist, when you wrote about keeping objects even, but when it spreads to your body, that's more serious. I would think if something happened a year ago, when this all began, something that hurt you bad, or traumatized you, or just something big that affected your life. I think you should probably get some therapy, just in case it's serious or is headed toward getting worse. DON'T go on any medicine immediately, because so many doctors like to drug up people now days. First talk it through and see if there's a problem. Good Luck, Brother! We're all cheering for you to get things back to normal!

This is a form of OCD (Better for those who are ignorant to the name as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). You want to seek help with this before it progresses to something that will ultimately control your every day life and the decisions you make. That's just my advice

No need for immediate concern; but I would talk to your family DR. about it. It is controllable. I have lived through it since I was 12 . Doctors can help you get over it!!!!! Please seek medical advice! You'll be much happier. Promise!
