which Nav? Aviation, Surface or Submarine?

they navigate.. they chart routes and make sure you don't run over whales or get lost.

BTW.. Restricted Line(your so called ground Navy) are found on board Ships, Subs and Aircraft as well.

As I understand the Surface Warfare Officer community (I was aviation so am not fully conversant with the SWO lifestyle) you do not join specifically to be a navigator. Navigator is an assignment on board a ship and can be filled by any unrestricted line officer. I have seen Navy Pilots assigned as Ships Navigator on board an LPH.

As for which community is better, it all depends on what you are looking for. As for lifestyle, I would say Aviation had the best deal.

Depends on what you wanna do. Aerial navigators plot courses for the craft their riding in and ship board nevigators do the same for their ship. Where you go depends on what you wanna do.
