Verily, verily, I say unto you, He [She] that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. John 5:24 So those who hear the words will get into heaven, but what of those who were not privy to be in the middle east at the time of jesus ? Or of those that this passage speaks of 2 Cor 4:3-6 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
How can god only speak to a select few, but claim that he wants to save everyone ?

In summary, a just God acts as such based on the following five points.

(1) People are responsible for the truth that they have, as Romans 1:20-24 shows.
(2) All people have some truth, from nature (Romans 1:20) and their own conscience. (Romans 2:13-15)
(3) God is just. God does not hold people responsible for the truth they do not have, as in Romans 4:15; 5:13, noting that Sin is not counted where there is no law. Or see Acts 17:30, stating that God overlooks times of ignorance.
(4) However, all ignorance is not necessarily innocent ignorance. In Romans 1:18-20 we read that people can suppress the knowledge that they have. While God understands of someone who only had very little light, people are still condemned if they are in darkness because they themselves "snuffed out the light".
(5) For those that reject the truth that they do possess, God is not obliged to give them additional truth. (Romans 11:20; Matthew 13:14-15; 23:29).

God hates sin, He is pure and holy and He wants no sin in His presence. He knew we would never be sinless no matter how hard we tried and we could not even keep his basic laws so He sent Jesus his son to die for our sins. As Christians we repent of our sins daily. We are cleansed and therefore able to go to Heaven to be with Him when we die. When you don't believe and turn away from God, you are still weighted down by the sins of your past, present, and future. You are full of something that disgusts Him. God is fair and just and He gives everyone an equal chance to make their own decisions. How fair would He be if He just went around picking and choosing randomly people who could go to Heaven. Quick example: You get an invite for a party and it says the only requirement for getting in the party is you have to wear a blue hat and everyone that wears one can get in. You go and buy a blue hat and go stand in line to get in. You see the guest of honor picking people out of the crowd to go in and only a few are wearing the blue hat. Would you think that was fair, no what would be fair is if the guest of honor only let in people with blue hats since that is what the invite stated. God says you are saved only through Jesus Christ and He is not going back on His word and changing the requirements just to suite you the and people who don't care at all about Him, the one that created you and the world you live in. He loves you and wants you to come to Him, but He won't force you to do it.

In christian theology people DO NOT perish eternally because they don't believe in God. They perish because they are sinners and are justly under God's condemnation.
They are SAVED from God's just condemnation by believing in Christ for the forgiveness of their sins.
As for the "select few" question, God in His loving kindness desires every man to be saved, God does not take delight in the death of the wicked, but His DECRETIVE WILL is that his ELECT will be saved being eternally happy, demonstrating His love and mercy and the REPROBATE would remain in their sinful state, thus perishing eternaly displaying His JUST WRATH. You see, the wonder is not why so many go to hell but why anybody is saved at all?

It is simply His Law and His word. He cannot go against his word, ever. He desires that not one of us should perish or be condemned. However, WE must choose him, HE has already chosen us. The ONLY way to go to hell is to reject God's love. A person goes to hell by his own choosing not by God's design. I am so pleased that you are actively reading the word. There you will find the answer you seek.

Understand this: God gave the most valuable thing He had as a sacrifice for everybody's salvation, His only Son. In return, he is able to freely offer an escape from Hell for every slimy, ignorant, selfish one of us, including me. And all we have to do is ask for it. Can He make it any easier?

Whether you like it or not, The Bible is the Word of God, and Jesus is "The Way, The Truth and The Life".

I want to thank you and others for helping to spread the Gospel.

For with every verse you quote here in R&S you bring His return that much closer.

With every verse you quote here in R&S there are hundreds/thousands who read it and are made aware of "His Word" rather you meant it that way or not.

With every question you ask here in R&S, and a "true" Christian answers, hundreds/thousands are made aware of "His Word".

Whether they believe or not the "Truth" is made known thus fullfilling the command Jesus gave to "go into all the world".

Thank you and God Bless you...Rev. Roy Ross
"We are praying for you".

God doesn't send people to Hell. God sent his one and only son Jesus to die in our place. Now that's the love of God. People choose to end up in Hell because they want to stay in their sins.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his deeds have been carried out in God."

As to your last question "How can god only speak to a select few, but claim that he wants to save everyone ?"

God doesn't say that He wants to save everyone. The Bible teaches that God enables a person to have faith in verses that speak to the doctrine of election. But the other side of that coin is that no where does the Bible teach that God will reject anyone who turns to Him for salvation. Instead it teaches that without God's help mankind will remain in his state of sin by his own choice.

"...your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost." Matthew 18:14

There are many scriptures that give hope to all people. Do you misinterpret scriptures on purpose or do you really think they say God speaks only to a select few?

Wow, amazing how all of the bible-toters try to make themselves sound less vindictive...sure, we put ourselves into hell, but the Bible says, in no uncertain terms, that the only way to salvation and heaven is through Jesus...therefore, if you don't believe in Jesus (and so his father, the Christian God) you are not saved...so, sugarcoat it how you like, but if you profess to believe in the New Testament, then you believe in an exclusionary God...if you're modifying that belief, then you're not an orthodox Christian (which is fine, just don't claim to be)...

Good question, there's a long way and a short way to answer your question, in the end, the bottom line is you have to believe it's a fair God that makes the rules.
Strange as it seems, it's so simple if you have faith. Your heart determines how hard or easy it is to understand.
Look into Gods word for the truth.....look into your heart for understanding!

"All things work for good for those who love the lord" this is their belief. They may believe you'll go to hell if you don't believe in God, but what does that matter to? It only matters if you don't believe in God but do believe your going to hell for it, which is a contradiction because if you didnt believe in God then why would you believe in Hell? This is kinda jumbled up I know, sorry, but what I'm trying to say is why do you care? Why do athiest read the bible? Why do Christians point their fingers at athiest and care so much if their going to hell? Personally I think everyone should just mind their own religious buisness.
