You can't rule out stupidity. Benjamin Franklin invented the lightning rod to protect buildings from being struck and burnt down. If somebody builds a 65 foot tall statue consisting of a flammable materials surrounding a metal frame, and puts it outside in a thunderstorm, they are ignorant of the laws of nature. I've never been a follower of Jerry Falwell. I'd guess that if he were still alive he'd make some outrageous claim that God did it out of displeasure for what the liberals have done to America. That was Falwell's explanation of everything bad. ...

I won't dare to guess how God will judge Falwell.
Yes, as an African American Christian I was often troubled by his acts. Still judging isn't my job.
He died, just like you or I will. It was his time and I see nothing in his death that says anything more then the brother should have done some push-ups or something....

Perhaps God yearned for Mr. Falwell's company and called him home.
Then again maybe Mr. Falwell's allotted time was just up and God chose to call him home.
At any rate Mr. Falwell has departed this veil of tears... Perhaps now his detractors will leave him alone.

of course it wasn't an act of God, thats crazy. and i dont know why people say it was poor diet or lack of exercise...the guy was in his 70s!!! they make is sound like he was 400lbs and died of a heart attack at 30. once you get past 70 you are on borrowed time i say. was falwell really in that much worse shape than joe paterno, who is in his 80s? no, not really. one died earlier than the other, that's all. i dont think God or diet had anything to do with it.

On the contrary, Falwell's death was communication from God saying "Come home, your work on earth is complete."

I do believe Mr. Falwell's death can be contributed to poor diet and lack of physical exercise, rather than a supernatural act of God.
If you wish, you could say he died of his sin, gluttony and laziness.

I doubt it. Death pretty much comes to everyone eventually and Falwell was, like, 140 years old.

The guy was in his 70's, he was over weight, and probably had heart problems and undetected diabetes. It was his time. Why hasn't god killed jane fonda or george bush yet?
