This has happened twice recently. One of my cats will, in the middle of the night, dart across the bed and into the living room, then lay on the floor and go into convulsions for a minute or two, and then get up and be dizzy and confused. One time she actually pissed herself. Has anyone heard of or experienced anything like this? At first I thought the other cat was chasing her and she smacked her head into something, but when it happened again I thought it was a little too coincidental.

What you are describing are classic signs of epileptic seizures. Animals, like humans, have a feeling that the seizure is coming, that's prob why kitty gets up and runs.
Get the cat to the vet for treatment, epilepsy can kill an animal so small without treatment, since it only gets worse.

It is having Grand Mal seizures! My mom's cat is epileptic and the same things happen to him. Each time anything has a seizure there is brain damage. Different vets have tried different medications and it took awhile to adjust his dose of Phenobarbital but he only has one now when he misses his meds. (Usually b/c he hides it under his tongue then spits it out later.)

Again, this is causing brain damage and he needs to be to a vet and on meds ASAP. These can be controlled and it is not life threatening IF treated. Left untreated, this cat could go into seizure and not come out of it.

FYI Ceasar starting have seizures when he was 6 year's old, he's now 10 and doing very well :)

I had a cat that I had spayed. I don't know what the vet did to her, if it was too much anesthesia or what but when I got her back, she would do the same thing. Sometimes she would walk into a wall, then start meowing at it, or take off running aimlessly hitting furniture, doors, walls, whatever and she had convulsions often too. She was perfectly house broken, before the incident, and I couldn't get her to use the litter box after I got her back.

Not sure exactly what you mean by "convulsions" since this can be up to interpretation, but sometimes flea bites can drive cats to look mad. If you're pretty sure it doesn't have fleas, then I would take her to get checked out. A cat is a pretty clean animal, and for her to leak on herself would be very unusual. I'd get her to the vet.

This sounds like an epileptic seizure. But I'm not a vet. Just a guess!

Getting up and darting around isn't unusual for cats. Mine do it all the time.

But you worried me when you mentioned "convulsions" and the fact that she actually urinated during one of the episodes.

I would get your pet to the veternarian, definitely. That isn't normal -- and it definitely isn't fun for your cat. Trust your instincts, and get your feline seen by a professional.
