I know a person that believes in God and that he created created life, but they believe that he just kind of started the whole thing and then let evolution occur and everything we see today was the result of evolution, not God's doing. This person does not pray to God, even though they believe in God, nor do they believe in any specific religion that I know of, however they also discount the big bang theory and spontaneous life formation. I'm not really big on putting a label on someone, but does anyone know of a specific term for what this person believs in?

I am a Deist.....and I relate to that person's ideology.

I do not see God as as "he"....I don't know what God is or how to define God.

The basic concept is the same.....it is a full circle of life. It started by something bigger than one human being and it will end the same way.

I don't know what label this person prefers, and I agree with your statement that "specific terms" are not necessary.

There are a lot of people that do not have one specific religion or belief. That is how I am. I would call it Non Denominational. Thats what I tell people when they ask. I can understand why your friend believes this because of course I do believe in God....we didn't just appear out of no where....but I know that science and evolution play a part in all this too.

Ishaq:166 “‘You have recited to the people that which I did not bring to you from Allah, and you have said that which He did not say to you.' The Messenger (Muhammad) was grieved and feared Allah greatly. Imam Bukhari, Vol 2, No. 167 "The sun eclipsed and the prophet jumped up terrified that it might be the Hour (of Judgement)"

QUESTION: I have only 1 question. From the above we see that Muhammad(pibuh) is CANNOT be trusted. So, what makes us think that the qur’an is trustworthy when nobody else has seen allah except Muhammad(pibuh)?

The person is trying to include every possiblity, covering all his bases. The trouble is winding up really believing in nothing; supported by nothing.

Hello there,

It sounds like maybe they are still searching for the truth.

It sounds to me that they believe bits and pieces of the christian Bible & bits and pieces of evolution (these 2 beliefs contradict each other in many ways).

I'm not sure - I might be wrong, but that's what it sounds like to me. Perhaps you could ask your friend? :-)

He is agnostic. Believes that there is a god, but that you cannot know him personally.
