There are none righteous no not one.The only way to get to God is through his Son Jesus.Paul said,"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you and your family will be saved."
Faith + 0 = salvation.
Jesus stands in for us.We aren't worthy to stand before God.Remember what Isaiah said as he had a vision of being before God.He fell down and said "behold I am a man of unclean lips" He knew he was a sinner and was before a Holy God.

The word "righteous" as used in the Bible means "in good standing".

As a believer in Jesus as your Lord, you are "in good standing" and need not "do" anything because your righteousness is not really yours at all. You share in the righteousness of Jesus before God. If you believe in Him and that God raised Him from the dead (Rom. 10:9-10) you have done all you are required to do.

Believe in His Son, His manifestation of Himself to us in human form. God Almighty is Christ Jesus in All His Glory. Christ Jesus in His flesh is His manifestation of Himself to humanity in a way we can more easily comprehend. Accept this truth about God and ask Him to forgive you of your sin and give yourself over to His Will. "Works" cannot make us appear righteous before God Almighty. The works we do are simply a spiritual barometer of our relationship with Christ Jesus. We do not boast of these works, rather, we give God all the glory and praise for producing these works in us and through us. The works we do apart from the Spirit of God, are detestable to Him. The works we do through the Holy Spirit, these are pleasing to Him. It is said in scripture: "Abraham believed and it was credited to him as righteousness"
The thief on the cross is a great analogy: This thief did no good works, probably never was baptised or went to church, yet, when he was hanging next to Christ Jesus on the cross, he simply believed, and asked Jesus to "Remember me when you come into your kingdom" Jesus answered him by saying: "I tell you, this day you will be with me in Paradise"
Jesus said nothing to him about not having been baptized, or not having been circumcised, or not asking for forgiveness;
The mans "faith" saved him. Period.
We get right before a Holy and Sovereign God by believing in His Son, Our savior, Christ Jesus.
God Bless You....Peace.

Obey God. From the beginning, His requirements are consistent, our practice is not.

Genesis 26:5 Because Abraham gave ear to my voice and kept my words, my rules, my orders, and my laws

Deut 4:8 And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?

Psalms 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever

Matthew 5:17 ¶ Let there be no thought that I have come to put an end to the law or the prophets. I have not come for destruction, but to make complete.
18 Truly I say to you, Till heaven and earth come to an end, not the smallest letter or part of a letter will in any way be taken from the law, till all things are done.
19 Whoever then goes against the smallest of these laws, teaching men to do the same, will be named least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who keeps the laws, teaching others to keep them, will be named great in the kingdom of heaven.

John 14:21 He who has my laws and keeps them, he it is who has love for me: and he who has love for me will be loved by my Father, and I will have love for him and will let myself be seen clearly by him.

Romans 6:23 For the reward of sin is death; but what God freely gives is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord

Romans 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.

Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

James 2:19 You have the belief that God is one, and you do well: the evil spirits have the same belief, shaking with fear.
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

1Jo 3:4 ¶ Everyone who is a sinner goes against the law, for sin is going against the law.

1Jo 5:3 For loving God is keeping his laws: and his laws are not hard.

Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Hmm, not what most of us were taught, eh?

Ecc 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

There is nothing we can do because it is humanly impossible to be perfect and stand before God, who is perfectly just. Thankfully, God is also perfect love, which is why he sent his Son to take the punishment that was due for us. If we accept that pardon that is offered by Jesus's death on the cross, God considers our sin to be paid in full. Although we are not righteous, we can then stand before God on Jesus's credit, so to speak. : )

We don't have to "appear" righteous before God. But He is calling us to live in a life of holiness, and it is never easy, but what is important is we are sincere to do it, the best that we can, because we believe in Him

When we Receive Jesus as LORD and Savior - are Born Again, God imparts to us the righteousness of Jesus Christ to us - and we are in right standing before God. We can come boldly, without shame or guilt before God by His Grace - because of that righteousness which He freely imparted to us{*If you wish - you may click on dad&son
and read How to Receive Jesus Christ as LORD and Savior so that His Righteousness may be imparted to you or to anyone reading this.

"Just as He who called you is Holy, so be holy in all you do, for it is written: Be Holy
because I AM Holy!" 1 Peter 1:15-16.

But How do we do this ? Is it not impossible to become Holy, as God is
Holy ?

Jesus Himself answers this in His prayer for the Body of Christ to God His Father:
"Sanctify them [Purify, Consecrate, Separate them for Yourself - to make them Holy] by the Truth; Your Word is Truth." Amplified Bible - John 17:17

As we daily come before God - humbly spending intimate time with Him in prayer and in His Holy Word [bible] - HE begins to Sanctify [Purify, Consecrate, Separate us for Himself} - to make us Holy.

Whether we are Born Again at 5 or 6 yrs of age or whether we were Born Again at the age of 75 - it will always be a lifetime process. *What gives us Peace and Rest for our souls {mind, will and emotions) during the Process of Purification {Sanctification) is this: there is No striving, for our Holy God is the One who makes us Holy. It thus becomes a reality to us that:
Jesus is truly our Prince of Peace - by the Grace of God our Father.

Encourage you to pick up the book:
"The Pursuit of Holiness" BY: Jerry Bridges
It was the first book I ever read on the process of Sanctification.

After reading the above book, I encourage you to read these books by A. W. Tozer:
1) Pursuit of God.
2) Knowledge of God - Vol 1
3) Knowledge of God - Vol 2
4) Attributes of God.
They teach us Who God really IS - in all His Holiness and Glory, and How to Grow in His Grace into full maturity - as HE makes us Holy by His Holy Word {the TRUTH).

Thank You for taking time to read this answer.

IF there be anything to be proud of and to boast about - it is only Jesus Christ, His death - and His Glorious Resurrection.

IT IS JESUS CHRIST WHO GIVES US JUSTIFICATION AND WHO MAKES US RIGHTEOUS BEFORE THE PRESENCE OF GOD!

JESUS IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE, NOBODY GOES TO THE FATHER BUT THROUGH HIM!

HE IS THE ONLY WAY TO SALVATION AND TO JUSTIFICATION, THROUGH HIS BLOOD SHED ON CALVARY, THAT CLEANSES US FROM ALL OUR SINS AND MAKES US AS WHITE AS SNOW IN THE EYES OF THE ALMIGHTY GOD!

PRAISE THE LORD!

Well---we can't DO anything. It is only by God's grace that we are justified and made holy and acceptable.

And for all you Catholic bashers----this is Catholic Doctrine! :)
