Of which there are plenty, by the way....but I'm wondering what you think of the Archaeopteryx, a missing link between reptiles and birds?
"It had bird characters, feathers and wings. It also had reptilian characters, the skeleton of a small theropod (flesh-eating) dinosaur, with a long bony tail, fingers with claws on the leading edge of the wing, and teeth in the jaws. A further seven skeletons have come to light. In addition, fantastic new specimens of birds have been found in Spain and China, which are some 30 or 40 million years younger than Archaeopteryx, and they are more bird-like, exactly as an evolutionist predicts. The new Spanish and Chinese birds have short bony tail tails, and their hand claws are reduced - they are becoming more bird-like. The Chinese localities have not only produced amazing new birds, but also new dinosaur specimens with feathers"
Even with this kind of hard evidence, EXACTLY what so many of you ask for, do you still deny transitional fossils exist??

It was never considered a hoax...except perhaps by the Church. Just Google it if you want for info....there's a lot out there!

Yes, they will still deny it, and always will regardless of what evidence is presented. We can only hope that some day their descendants will abandon blind religious dogma and accept reality like those in the Catholic Church did despite the Church's absolute belief the Earth was the center of the universe and didn't move, and their persecution of anyone who disagreed, like Darwi... I mean, Galilleo.
Here's an experiment: Take some white paint, and drop by drop add black paint. As it changes from totally white to totally black, at what point can you identify a "transitional phase?" At any point in the process, those who think like creationists would say "that's not a transitional phase, that's gray!" Logical and honest people would say that every shade of gray is a transitional phase.
EDIT: I love reading this type of question and its answers. I get a kick out of people showing thier defiant ignorance in the face of reality. Eds, for example, gives a reference from RAE.ORG to prove his point. What is RAE? It's "Revolution against Evolution" and guess who sponsors RAE.ORG? The Mount Hope CHURCH. They also have a link to the AMY foundation which sponsors, among other things, a writing contest for essays which "present biblical truth reinforced with scripture in secular, non-religious publications..."
It's so great when people get their information and beliefs from such unbiased and well informed sources...

what I don't understand is how anyone can say anyone is close minded about this whole deal when it's obvious that many have studied both sides of the coin....
I am of the opinion that archaeopteryx is simply an extinct bird. There is absolutely no proof that it is a transitional fossil for that very reason.. It's a fossil - not a living creature that can be studied, observed and bred.
If it were transitional, there would have to be literally thousands or millions of transitional fossils showing the change from an actual reptilian creature up to the archaeopteryx, and then again, from the archaeopteryx to birds themselves. The process would involve massive amounts of genetic information being lost and mutated. And where does the genetic information that is gained come from?
Just the very fact that evolutionary science states that this process took millions of years SHOULD produce this missing evidence. I don't understand how, logically, anyone can claim it as fact when conclusive evidence isn't there. The logical conclusion is that it's a belief system, not fact at all.
blessings :)

One, I believe that God created existence and used evolution to create life. Also, Archaeopteryx is not a missing link between reptiles and birds. To find the missing link, one would want to look at the gliding reptiles that existed during the Triassic period. Archaeopteryx is actually believed to be part of an extinct branch of birds that evolved during the Jurassic period.
In conclusion, fossils do exist. God used evolution when forming life. Who is to say 7 days isnt 4 billion years?

The archaeopteryx is not actually a transitional fossil. Its an evolutionary dead end. How do I know this? Because I made studying dinosaurs a big part of my life for many years. I was even invited to study with one of my idols, for free, for a year (though I didn't follow up on it due to the then boyfriend threatening to break up with me if I did because he knew that the career would come first).
I know a great deal about dinosaurs, flying and swimming reptiles.
MInd you, I do agree that transitional fossils exist, the archaeopteryx just isn't one of them.

Mel: As a Christian, I think you could be correct in your conclusion but I haven't had a chance to research this YET.
I assume, at this point, that you are attempting to prove evolution - am I not right? There is a list to be found, where some of the world's top scientists from some of the most prestigious educational institutes, of higher learning who totally - 100% DISAGREE with Darwin and evolution. Should you want to access this information, the web-site is that of the Center for Science and Culture (CSC) www.dissentfromdarwin.org - why the science books still exhibit and promote this as the Gospel of Science is beyond me. WARNING ... You will feel very USED after viewing this site and having your trust violated !!!

It really makes me sad. I once read a book about id that said that the archeopterix was merely a bird, just like any other bird, i started laughing out loud immediatly.
The same book also claimed categoricaly that the archeopterix flew, which is something that no researcher or paleontologist can affirm with certainty.....

you are taking things in isolation ,show me the ancestor [intermediate for the platypuss , or even your archeopteryx , or the coalescent , you begin your evolution , with a virus , but even then that's not a beginning [what virus , your evolutionary tree shows one tree
there could be infinite ''trees'' ,
then we [you] are beginning the story mid way , begin at the beginning ,
not the big bang from no where [from nothing ] ,but the real beginning of the nothing ,
science so clever makes these little mind pictures of logic ,based on selecting fact , but has no logical complete evolution of the whole picture
where is the dopler red shits for a big bang
where is the improved apes [the apes are still here , yet its ''improved '' more viable evolutions are not ?
logic alone suggests improvement [the intermediate viables ]should have better survive bility but none survived?
why none survive [because they never egsisted ]
wake up my brother logic suggests improvements should have better survivability [not less]

It really doesn't matter how much evidence you give them, or how accurate your arguments are; they have closed their minds to the possibility that they may be wrong, and will argue their case to the end. No amount of truth or reason can un-bury their heads from the sands they have so carefully inserted them in.And they say WE are close minded!
And for the record, dinosaurs are not reptiles,at least most were not.Current understanding shows that many of them were in fact warm blooded, with 4-chambered hearts similar to our own.

I don't dispute the validity of the theory of evolution, but I do contend that dinosaurs were NOT reptiles as we understand them today. In fact, theropods always shared more traits in common with modern birds than they do with modern reptiles.

Of course transitional fossils exist. Thats because some evolution actually happened and is happening.
However, it just so happens modern man did NOT evolve from anything. They were made "as is".
Cain evidently married an evolved "being" when he went to the land of Nod after killing Able. There was only three living "humans" on earth at that time. Unfortunately, Cain and the "being" were close enough to breed and have descendants. Pops
