Take it everywhere, some of my best shots have been no skill at all, just right place right time.

I take at least one almost everywhere. I don't usually take it to funerals, unless the family requests some pictures. (That actually happens more often than you'd think.)

I don't go to many concerts any more, but if the rule was no photography I didn't take it there, either.

I have a little Olympus Stylus Epic that is small enough to stick in a purse or pocket if I want to be unobtrusive.

Uhhhh, do you mean when to take a camera with you when you go places?? If so, take it as much as possible. Obviously take it when you are site seeing, when you are going to be with family or friends, or when you are trying something new.

those who prepare my sorry remains for disposal after my death probably won't pack a camera with me (sigh), but other than that i intend to carry a camera with me where ever i go.
