Believe it or not, you're adjusting to better air quality... when you come back to CA to visit, you will get headaches and probably get conjested. You absolutely will adjust, but you also could have allergies to the pollens out there. You may want to see a doctor if things don't clear up and get a nasal spray.

You can, depending on what in the climate is causing distress on your body and what actions are taken to alleviate the problem. If the area in California you moved from was almost desert (Diego, etc). Then the headache could be sinus/allergy. If your climate was northern California (more lush vegetation) then the allergen argument dwindles. Are you sneezing or eyes watering? Blowing your nose or itchy? These are the most common factors for allergy but are often overlooked due to the more significant physical pain (headache).

If the problem is allergies due to the move there are things that you can do to help the symptoms, but no real quick-fix. I moved from PA to NC a score of years ago, and am still dealing with some of the allergic consequences.

If allergies are not the issue, then your body can probably adjust. A higher altitude ( or lower depending on if you lived on the CA coast or inland) could cause a headache as well, but can be adapted to rather quickly. A couple/few months tops. If it has already been that, there may be another factor at play.

There is, of course, the question of rural vs urban, but your question seemed to imply that this was not an issue.

It might be the climate...but have you checked with an allergist? The flora is much, much different in Kansas than in California. Even if you have never had allergies in your life you can develop them in different climates. Also, headaches are a symptom of allergies and don't need to be accompanied by any of the other associated symptoms, like sneezing and itchy eyes.

It will go away after a while. I had the same problem just visiting Cali from Michigan. You body just has to get used to being there. Best thing that i found to do was lay outside (in the shade in cali) and just fall asleep. Of course i already had headache medication in me, and it took about two days of doing that for a little bit, but i was good after that.

Remember however, everybody is different, it might take you more or less time. But the best thing to do is just get your body used to the atmosphere.Try to advoid loud noise and those regular things that would normally give you a headache, lay back, and just enjoy the outside the best you can.

:-) Good luck and God Bless

That same thing happened to me a few years ago: I moved from PA to Cali and I believe it took about a month to go away. Unless, the headaches are caused by something else, you should get well soon. :)

One of my friends always felt ill, including headaches, until they moved from Calgary, AB to Vancouver, BC. Then they were fine.

So I'm inclined to say, "yes". And you can also move to another climate and become healthier.
