of that 20 lbs probably 75% was water weight. losing scale weight is easy, losing body fat is not. for most it takes a good 2-3 weeks for the metabolism to shift for there to be measurable fat loss

Yes, it probably is possible, but very unhealthy.

The first week of dieting, it is very common to lose up to 5 pounds. The next few weeks you can lose about 3 pounds per week. If you use diet products designed to lose weight very quickly, it does so by getting rid of water in your body. You can lose water weight fast, but then your body becomes dehydrated and as soon as you rehydrate your body, you would gain it all back just as fast as you lost it. If you starve yourself, your body will go into a state known as acidosis where it begins to eat away at the muscle in your body for energy. Since muscle and water both weigh more that fat, you would lose weight quickly. A healthy weight loss is only 2-3 pounds per week after the first week. It should have taken her at the very least 6 weeks to lose 20 pounds.

Something to remember though is that the more muscle you have, the higher your metabolism is because muscles burn fat for energy.

I HIGHLY doubt it, but if she did, that is extremely dangerous, and it was probably all water.

With personal expeirence, and battling an eating disorder, I know that about 1/2 lbs can be lost per day with complete starvation, so thats about 6 lbs in 13 days.

that is a lot of weight to lose in 13 days=that's something like
a bit over 2 pounds a day=she is either fibbing or the other girl is doing a detox and only drinking fluids

Very possible but only likely if she's sick. Whether it be she was just violently ill and couldnt eat cuz her stomach wouldnt keep it in due to a flu or she may have had an eating disorder.

It could have partially been water weight and she could have not eaten much and had luck with it... you can tell by looking at her, that's a drurastic weight loss. She probably exaggerated though.

IF she was on an ultra strict diet or starving herself, that might be possible. However she lost it, it definitely wasnt healthy!

it is possible but probably not very healthy. What does it matter how much weight you lose if damages your body

if she did it certainly is very unhealthy for her and also in no time she will more than likely gain it right back and then some-anytime you lose weight too fast you always gain it back-unless it is due to illness.
