When I eat, my throat doesn't burn, but it feels like I have food stuck in it. My dad suggests acid reflux, but it doesn't burn. I can't find anything on google, so what would it be?

Your feeling that "food is stuck in your throat" is what is referred to as a "globus" effect and is something that your doctor needs to address. Sometimes a gastroenterologist is needed to diagnose and treat the condition. Acid reflux has a broad range of symptoms that could include the problem you describe... please take time to see a doctor to get a clear idea of what's going on.

If you feel nausea right after eating a sugary snack, its possible you are having problems with your gall bladder. Go to a doctor and get an ultrasound. Gallstones and low ejection rate are the typical cause of a sudden severe intolerance to small armounts of fats and sugars. Candy bars have a lot of fat and sugar.

Your dad might be right. You don't have to have a "burning" to have heart burn. Symptoms for heartburn can be a broad range of anything from nausea to ab pain.
For now- eat slower and smaller bites to help fight off the "throw up" feeling.
Ask your parents to make you a appointment at the dr. It's worth looking into.

Your dad is right. Burning happens when there has been erosion in the esophagus. You don't want it to get that far, believe me. Take an antiacid like Prilosec, Tagamet, etc.

To be sure you have to see your doctor. I agree with your dad, it sounds like acid reflux to me. Also some people with a hiatal hernias have these symptoms. Anyway, it is treatable when you see your doctor. Over the counter Gaviscon may help.

It's called indigestion. Sometimes it means you have gallstones and your gall bladder needs to be removed. For some reason, sometimes surgery doesn't cure it.
