This is the religious section, right? The section where subjects as war, abortion, sexuality, world politics, euthanasia, eternal punishment and the meaning of life and afterlife are discussed, right?

How is it possible that everybody remains so friendly in this section, with all those tough subject? Subjects with so many possible different opinions. How do you people manage to stay so civilized?

Sorry, I get so tired of 5 times an hour reading (and everytime disagreeing with) "why is everybody so mean to eachother?", I figured it was time to post a question like this.

Yes! We do all have the love of god or lack of god or whatever for each other! Seriously, I do like almost all of the regulars and the ones I don't like amuse me greatly!

Great question. I personally try to filter the meanness and try my best...which is not a lot time to time...to not to be mean back to people.

However, we do not have a voice with answers, so an angry person can read my answer in a angry way and take it totally in a different way intended. I think that is why Jesus said that it is importnt to Him that we love one another because it really makes things different when we care about each other.

Everyone is never going to be agreeing on everything. This is an open discussion column where people can discuss on hard issues of life. I think we should try our best to hear each other out. We all are going through something and if we try, maybe we can help each other out...and make one person's life a little bit better that day.

It's because we've all put our petty ideological and theological differences aside in order to show peace, love, and acceptance for our fellow humans, who have as much a right to their beliefs as we have of ours. We all strive to reach the greater common good here, not just the good that most benefits our own particular beliefs. Aren't we great? Edit: Just so you know, I am a Confirmed Atheist that believes all religions should be considered equal.

As much as the R&S people dislike each other, we have a small bond formed through the shared adversity of dealing with Yahoo. Remember the weeks when avatars wouldn't show? Everyone complained in harmony.

Because we can always CHOOSE goodness and respect for common humanity. A lot of people will respond to a big, sincere smile or otherwise. Choose goodness all the time.

well, this isn't the best section because it's kinda like a mini war between religion. and some people trying to shove theirs down anothers throat. i don't think pushing is the best way to get a person to believe your way (not that i try to get everyone to believe my way) it's just that pushing does exactly what it sounds like... in both directions. it pushes them away. as for ME, I try to be as nice as possible. that is just the way i am.

Thanks, I had a hard day at work I got blamed for everything that went wrong. I needed a laugh. I think the key to this little place of ours is we are all just a bit crazy...in a good way!

If you love your fellow man, as Jesus has commanded us to do, you will be kind to everyone. How can we bring people to Christ if we hate them? Then our comments would only be for our piety instead of our love and concern for them.
