Not sure why you ask but the first is talking about an absence of the righteous... perhaps there could be but at present there is none.

The second states that there can be no righteous...it can't be done.

I'm not a Christian, I hope that doesn't matter to you.

Let's look at this verse a little closer using the amplified Bible which helps us understand what is being said in context.

9Well then, are we [Jews] superior and better off than they? No, not at all. We have already charged that all men, both Jews and Greeks (Gentiles), are under sin [held down by and subject to its power and control].

10As it is written, None is righteous, just and truthful and upright and conscientious, no, not one.(C)

11No one understands [no one intelligently discerns or comprehends]; no one seeks out God.(D)

12All have turned aside; together they have gone wrong and have become unprofitable and worthless; no one does right, not even one!

The key to understanding this verse is the words " all men....are under sin." It is the sin that causes the problem. We are all born in sin. That's why we are bent on doing the wrong things right from the start. But Jesus recognized what the problem for man was and camy to remedy the situation... He came to make us righteous. Read these verses which follow in the same chapter....

21But now the righteousness of God has been revealed independently and altogether apart from the Law, although actually it is attested by the Law and the Prophets,

22Namely, the righteousness of God which comes by believing with personal trust and confident reliance on Jesus Christ (the Messiah). [And it is meant] for all who believe. For there is no distinction,

23Since all have sinned and are falling short of the honor and glory [b]which God bestows and receives.

24[All] are justified and made upright and in right standing with God, freely and gratuitously by His grace (His unmerited favor and mercy), through the redemption which is [provided] in Christ Jesus,

So you see you are just looking at one part of the picture. Though you are not righteous, you can be through Jesus Christ. He forgives sinners who ask for forgiveness.

If you isolate that verse you have a point. However, by reading the entire chapter one learns that Paul was telling the followers of Jesus they were not better than those who do not know Jesus because, on our own we are not righteous. Farther down, in Romans 3:22, we learn that faith is Jesus is what makes us righteous.

What exactly are you supposed be opening our eyes to? This is one of the most quoted verses of the bible, so it's not exactly like we wouldn't know it. And every translation I've seen uses some form of the first one, which would seem to indicate that the second is an inaccurate and unnecessary paraphrase. But on our own, either would be correct... we are not and cannot be righteous, any righteousness that we might have is that which God will restore to us.

To be accurate you need to realize that this verse is quoting another verse from the old testament. King Solomon saying there is not righteous man on earth who never sins. That was in the old law and the verse in Romans 3:10 is showing how the old law was and how we need grace or we are all doomed.

what do it mean to u? Well....it means you're no master of grammar. Other than that, it appears that you have taken a verse out of context to try and confuse Christians as to it's meaning. No human being is righteous without the intervention of Jesus Christ, we just can't get past the laws We are all under the condemnation of the Law, but Jesus' blood frees us from that condemnation.

Do you have another question?

They are different. The verse is saying that despite all the good we have done, we have not attained to the place of righteousness. The verse is saying that God has already judged us and found us guilty of breaking the law.

Your second version tells us that we cannot do anything to overturn the sentence of death that God has already handed down. If a person murders another person, there is nothing good that person can do to get out of the death row cell. So the only way we can get the righteousness God demands for entrance into the kingdom of God is to trust in His mercy and ask for forgiveness of sins.

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

The King James tells the truth, there is none righteous by their own works. The new age perversion says that no one can be righteous, which is a lie, because Jesus makes us the righteousness of God in Christ.
