What do you think when somebody tells you they were born _______ and will die __________ ? Obviously some ppl are happy with what they were born into and have studied other things but to actually say I was born _____ and will die ______ is so annoying to me. Just like when somebody says my great grandfather was a ______ and I am and my kids will be too. What do you think? I have a hard time taking them seriously...I was just looking through some old q&a and saw some ppl posting that for their answers...

Hello, Fez:

I have been a Christian for 33 1/2 years and have never told someone I have been born again, or I'm saved.

Although God has given us hope of an eternity, you will not read where one disciple or prophet said they were saved. In fact, Paul says, "Not that I have attained." Paul never denied the faith, and after being condemned by Nero, he did say he had finished the race, and there was a crown awaiting him.

All the disciples, not just Peter, forsook the Lord at the time of His greatest need. Yes, they had walked with Him for 3 1/2 years. Watched Him heal entire villages of illness, walk on water, control the elements, and stop a funeral train and awaken the dead. Yet, they ran before the mob, and Peter crowed like a chicken.

So, when you hear someone say they are "born again", tell them they are not in the Kingdom yet, and they too may crow.

Heavenly intelligences determine who will dwell with them, and we must run the race to the finish line, or be disqualified.

God does have a definite plan to save this one rebelluous planet, and He hid a bible code, just for our day. You can read His secret message at http://abiblecode.tripod.com

Blessings and peace, One-Way

I understand what you are saying, and I agree. I have been askign this question during religious debates. I find it interesting that families tend to have the same religion. I know that families share beliefs and values, but I personally took time to explore religions and found my beliefs to be a bit different from my parents. Of course my Catholic mother married my Methodist father, and I myself married a Christian even though I am Pagan.
Some people also identify their religion with family traditions. A jewish family that spends holidays together would find it difficult to include someone celebrates different holidays. People have different reasons, but I find it ignorant to believe something just because it is what everyone else believes or becuase they feel it is expected of them.

I agree with you; I find that extremely irritating. I will say though, that I find Muslims to be the worst offenders in this case - which makes some sense, given that looking into Christianity or Judaism would be going backwards in time (whereas a Christian looking into Islam would be going forwards in time, that is).

Everyone will make a choice on their own for what they believe. No one can rely on the faith or belief of another. There is a big difference in believing with your brain and believing with your heart. You have only one life to live and you don't know how long you will be here. It is a big decision that you must make yourself.

OK I think I understand this ... why are people saying things like ... my father was a republican, his father was a republican and I'll be a republican till the day I die and my children damn well better be republican as well?? in other words why don't people think for themselves? I think for the most part many people have forgotten how to do that.
