my westie terrier is 1.5 yrs old and has suddenly become aggressive toward some dogs in my neighborhood. He plays and runs around with most of them , but with 4 dogs he has been surprisely aggresive, he barks and bites them, what's going on?

Sounds like he may have been hurt or frightened by one of them and nolonger likes them and accepts them on his territory. Good Luck

Since he's a small dog, I wouldn't be suprised if it's just his breed. He's not a puppy anymore so his true nature as an adult dog could just be surfacing. He may always be aggresive towards other animals. It doesn't mean anything is wrong.

Your dog might sense that the dogs are dangerous. I read that dogs can sense good and bad things. My dog bit a guy who said he was going fishing, but he had no fishing net or poles. He was in my yard. My dog sensed he was bad. You dog might of sensed that the 4 dogs were bad.

because someone has been roughhousing with it,believe me i have a dog and he does this all the time.

well, ar the dogs bigger than him>? maybe thats wy. also, ar they male? that's another possibility. sorry, thats all i kno! hope it helps!
