In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

Satan does exist.. and so does God, Heaven and Hell. Satan was sent to hell, so he wants to bring everyone he can with him. He doesn't want ANYONE to be happy and go to Heaven. It says it plain as day in the Bible! READ IT.
**Mel: you said that many people dont believe what we believe.. so that doesnt make it true. Well then how come what YOU believe is true? I know a lot more people who believe in God and Satan than do not. So who says your right?

OHH and most religions believe in A god.. and satan.. and that there is a heaven and a hell... but they are just not christians.. but at least they believe that much.

The rich man in hell, who desperately longed for one drop of water from the fingertip of Abraham, wanted him to send someone from the dead to tell his brothers how bad hell is. Abraham told him that though someone arose from the grave they would not believe. Keep the faith, the Lord be with you.

Satan walks around like a lion seeking who he may devour. He is not called the accuser of the brethen for nothing. Yes he wants us to be cast into hell because he hates us so much because we were made a little higher than the angels. The are made to serve us and we will judge them.

Because Satan wants everyone to go to Hell. I don't deny it. As a Muslim I believe in Jinn, the Prophets(PBUT*), the angels, ALLAH, Iblis, Jinnah, and Jahannam as well as the Qur'an, Injeel, and Torah. That is why I do my best to stay on the Straight Path so I don't go to Jahannam when I die.

Are you really so naive little girl as to believe in Satan? Do you have yourself so tightly wrapped in that Christian cocoon of ignorance afraid of loosing your little La La Fairy Land of Eternity if you dare to reason. Afraid if you dare to think your Hobgoblin Satan will jump out and take a bite of your butt? Pitiful little girl.

i think that the father of lies would be better at it them you all believe. its SIMPLE your all tricked. the #1 sin in the Satanic bible is STUPIDITY Satan doesn't want you to bad things. read in genesis. Satan wants your eyes to be opened so you can realize good and evil. Satan wants you to be like god. right in genesis its proof god is a LIAR. BE CAREFUL of what you beLIEve!!

live your life in fear of hell, follow a set of rules created by "god", so that AFTER you are DEAD you can enjoy the pleasures of heaven.

also this message from god about all these rules was communicated thru man.
well don't you remember the game "telephone"
the message is sent on 1 end and by the time i goes thru like 10 people its a completely false message, now multiply this by billions and now you have a bigger distorted message.

living your life for heaven, sounds like torture to me. if someone actually followed all of the holy bible rules they would be driven insane. its impossible so therefore JUST ENJOY LIFE and all its carnal delights.

There's no satan. There's no god. There's no Tooth Fairy. There's no Easter Bunny.

Honey, the majority of people on this planet don't believe in your religion. Just because you believe it, it doesn't make it true.
