So I have been dating this for a year and a half and we have been having sex since this december and he has been my only partner- vis versa. Two days ago i noticed a small pimple like bump on the outside of my vagina and I am concerned. I think it is an ingrown hair because i shave down there sometimes and there is hair growing out of the bump. It is only one and it is reddish--is it an STD?!

have you been using protection?
it is prob a ingrown hair ..but could be herpes, you might want to get it checked out..and watch out with the shaving, I have seen people with infected sores from nicks etc..it is not the cleanest area in the world to shave

i've worked at a welness center at a university, and i've seen this before, its more than likely an ingrown hair, std's don't usually appear as one bump, then herpes come, they come, and its not just one miscuel lil bump, also as far as other stds go, they are more than 78% associated with some sort of skin irritation, e.i. burning, itching, redness, so if you don't have that, i'd say your in the clear, and well with stds in general if u have it you have it, its not gonna get any worse or better with out treatment, but i'd wait a week before i'd head over to the clinic....

Relax! It's probably just an ingrown hair. Does it look like a pimple? Can you pop it? Keep it clean and put some acne medicine on it. If it gets worse, or doesn't go away, see a doctor.

Theres no one any one can answer this, if it doent go away in a week I would go see the gyno just to get it checked out. But some stds stay silent for awhile one of you could have contracted something before you guys got together and didnt know it,,, IF its an std. I know you say you guys have only been with eachother but you never know. But I wouldnt worry till you definetly know, good luck

The best treatment in the elimination of acne is to clean the skin by some medicated cleansers.
A cleanser removes the sweat, make-up, accumulated oil and dirt on the surface of the skin.
These cleansers makes easy for the topical acne treatments to absorb in the skin and too much use of these cleansers can result into irritated dry skin. So, these acne cleansers should be applied only once and twice daily.
Vigorous washing and scrubbing the skin can make the acne worse.

most likely it is either an ingrown hair or a pimple. BUT you should always get these things checked by your doctor! give it a few days, and if it doesn't heal, then go see your doctor. otherwise, time will only tell! (:

If your boyfriend has never been with anyone else then it is not an STD. And why are you not using condoms?

It could be an infected gland... Or it might just be a pimple. See a doctor.

I went through the same thing your're going through. I went to the nurse and she said it was an ingrown hair that had gotten infected, you should still have it checked just in case.

sounds like an ingrown hair to me. try waxing instead of shaving and you won't get those as much. make sure that you are his only partner and get tested to be safe and use condoms if ya'll don't already. Good luck and stay safe!
